EOI : 2+2 Subwoofer enclosures

Hi guys,

I'm starting a dedicated EOI thread for the 2+2 sub boxes as the other threads are to be closed.

My contract is coming to a close on the 18th of December, and having learnt a lesson during the last group buy (there really only are 24 hours in a day!), I've decided to take time away from work to work on this group buy.

Pricing will be similar to that of the two seater group buy, though it will be a bit more expensive due to a fibreglass materials hike of 12%, and these boxes will be larger because of the difference in layout of the 2+2 boot.

They will be similar to the boxes in the below picture.

I'm currently working on the design of these boxes at the moment. They will use a combination of fibreglass and MDF. They will accomodate up to 12" woofers, with depth and litreage to be confirmed when the prototypes are completed.

Please only register your interest in these if you can pay for them. I will require at the very least, a 50% deposit, with full payment on completion (or upfront payment if you want to).

PLEASE NOTE: At this point in time, my trimmer has become a little bit erratic with his time frames - I'm looking to find another trimmer who will do these for a competitive price, and produce quality work. Therefore, carpeted boxes will be MUCH faster to complete, as I can do these myself if need be.

Hey Pete,

Have you ever thought about designing a small parcel shelf or something to go between the two strut towers? (for the 2+2).

It would make finding a place to mount amps alot easier!

Left hand one a sub encloser

are you able to make the other one solid and put a hinge on it so i can turn it into a storage box?

i only say that due to the design of these compared to the 2 seaters

 

Ill take one, left or right does not matter... possibly both sides depending on price...

The idea of it being a storage box is a good one. I had considered this idea but with it being a battery box instead. Maybe have it hinged along the inner long edge and flip inwards to the centre.

Also, will these go completly to the floor or sit on top of the foam trays?
Personally I would prefer to the floor for battery mounting reasons. And the same with the other side. I'm hoping that there will be enough room in the battery box side to mount the jack etc in there nicely and do away with both foam trays.

Interested in your door like pod for boot not box.

I would be very interested in a curved (like your door pod in the signature) for the boot (passenger side) and not the simple box as it spoils the lines of the zed.

 

Rear seat replacement sub-box ... 2+2 to two seater.

What I would love to see is a drop-in "bolt in" replacement sub box and storage "hide-whole" that replaces the rear seats. So that you can turn a 2+2 into a long wheel base 2 seater.

Hence a situation where you could swap in and out the rear seats or sub-box on a needs basis.

And please know comments about selling the 2+2 and buying a 2 seater instead. Because there are times when the two rear seats are handy but other times when a two seat configuration is better for sound.
