Had a constructive day today:thumbsup: [/IMG]Oil pick up, sump, rocker covers, timing kit, a bit of a hold up with the timing, the wrong top idler was supplied so will complete that on Monday, plenty to carry on with
Think I got it sorted. Time will tell. Did you notice that I will now be able to access the det sensor in car. Thats the loom hanging out the back of the engine. Very neat
Another quiet day in the office. It's getting there [/IMG] Any of you that have removed/replaced turbo's in car , I take my hat off to you:thumbsup:
here's one I prepared earlier. And I've still got a boot full of chrome, blue painted things, and Caz1's S/Steel hard pipes yet [/IMG]
Stock turbo's re-built. Heatshields chromed, but a bit pissed that when I started cleaning everthing up to put it together last Wed. i found two more (drivers side- turbo shield and dump) that I had missed. you can se them in the EGR removal thread. Rang ALL the electroplaters around and it takes two to three weeks so i decided not to do them cause I didn't want to delay the job any longer. Won't be able to see most of it anyway. As i put (am putting) it back together I keep finding more and more I could have chromed. Engine and TX dipstick pipes, turbo drains, brackets etc, As i said I've still got a boot full of bling to add. More pic's as more gets done. Held up at the moment because the incorrect top idler pulley was supplied for the timing belt. All new pulleys, Tensioner,Belt
Re: the bits you missed for chroming how about a bit of heat proof black on those - then you wont notice them in amongst all the bling PS. I do hope you are going to paint the bolt head for the harmonic balancer - very shabby!
Did bugger all today. Took the granddaughter to see some doco. about Penguins. No the heads are au-natural, and I dare anyone to see the H/B bolt head in car, but now you mention it I havn't painted the H/B, it was with all the rotating bits at the balancer's. :zlove:
Can I suggest you change that engine pully before you put it back in the car. You know a lightened one.
Afraid I won't entertain the idea. It'a harmonic balancer ,and Nissan put one of that mass on a V6 for a good reason. I'll stay OUT of the Aluminium Under drive pulley argument thank-you.
P.S. Fleet,I don't know if you'r having a go at me or what, But I started pulling this thing out in Jan. (the old, wrongly named Engine Re-build thead):LOL:
