As some of you know I installed an Engine Preluber in my zed a few weeks back. This is the original thread: Engine Preluber The kit was bought from these guys: http://www.autoenginelube.com I've trialled the kit for a few weeks now and it works fine. No leaks and works as designed... I've been in contact with the manufacturer and if we get a minimum of 5 people, we can get these kits for $152.00 US each ($199 australian). Normal price is $189.95 US ($249 australian). Shipping will also be quite cheap as all the kits will be sent in one box to individual states. I would please ask that before you purchase, first examine your engine bay for a location where the accumulator tank can be mounted. It is 3" x 9" in size. Where I mounted it was the only place I had available, but many people may still have the normal EGR or AIV solenoids in that location. Also, I dont know what the "plumbing" is like in that area for TT's so that may complicate the issue... Mounting the solenoid will be easy, its the tank thats difficult... In regards to the extra fittings I bought from PirTek, here are the details: Part No. Description Price JF1-0906P 9/16" JIC FEM STR 3/8" Hose $5.98 F-02-09 Nipple BSPT Male x JIC MALE $3.10 Z01025-04 No 25 1/4 M&F Extruded Elbow $4.86 Z01024-0402 No 24 1/4x1/8 Reducing Bush $1.70 Z01027-02 No 34 1/8 F&F ELBOW-INDUSTRIAL $6.18 Z01027-02 No 27 1/8 Hex Nipple $ 1.11 You may need to buy mutiple of the first 2 items. Please respond to this post if you want to be part of the group buy.
Not interested in th GB but asll in favour of nipples and reducing bush, not a fan of those male nipples in there though
One question................. When does this close Mark? I ask as I have to hunt-out space for the accumulator tank. Thanks. CheerZ Vincent
time frame I will leave this open for a few weeks... or until we get enough members to go ahead with the group buy.... after one month, I'll close it down for good... Cheers
no one interested? it works a treat, trust me I'm a doctor... Nah seriously, it does work perfectly... Cheers
I do want in, but can we leave this open for a couple of weeks [to give my time to collect my funds --- rebuild is taking a toll]
Yeah I'm in, was just waiting to check for...... space under the bonnet for the accumulator, which I've been to bloody slack to do! I'm sure there's space under there somewhere, so count me in. CheerZ Vincent
I'm interested also, but probly not till the end of the month if the gb is still running Just too much other stuff to buy at the moment.
hrmm just thinking about my engine bay other than that area noted im thinking the only place to place it would be somewhere under the nose panel....next to the filter... just double check at the tech day on sunday with another tt z
TT placement Ok well at the recent tech day had a look at some TT's in the area next to the brake master cylinder where I have my preluber tank installed... Now, on TT's you have this: Essentially and EGR solenoid, AIV solenoid and according to ben some minor plumbing for boost related stuff?? Now for those that have removed the EGR and AIV's can piss off these solenoids no probs like I have... The boost related stuff I am unsure about, but it just seems like some tubing and wires which can be moved out of the way.... Anyway, thats it. If people dont want to remove the solenoids then the only other place I can think of on a TT is behind the front bar. There seems to be a bit of room behnind there but once again it depends on whether you have a stock air box, pod filter, FMIC etc etc... This is really going to be an individual basis as everyone is going to have to find there own ideal locations. The NA's I looked at on the tech day dont seem to have these issues and hence placement would be much easier. Cheers
UPDATE Ok so far we have the following people in the group buy: Method Vincent Zweet jacrabbit Still to confirm are ltd and Ascension... we need at least one more person for this to go ahead... Cheers
I am really keen as I understand the benefits of a device such as this, but i've just gone in on the Bovs, and I was hoping this GB would carry on till the end of the month to let me scratch some more cash together. I understand that the people already in probably don't want to wait so if I happen to miss out then that's cool. I'll keep tabs on what's going on here and try to keep my wallet closed for the next 2 weeks in case I can still make it in Thanks Ben
I will keep the group buy open till the end of the month anyway to allow more people to join... but after that, providing we have 5 people, the group buy will close... but yeah, if you have money by the end of the month, then it should be sweet... Cheers
