just stumbled across this thread and started to read. havent read all the pages. but in my opinion, theres plenty of bumpers, nose panels, sideskirts, out there. if i started making parts, id make spoilers, hoods, vented guards, rear bumpers. less current range out there. you should collect a few bits people have said they like, start a tally of who would definately buy one. whatever gets most votes wins. get everyone interested to confirm, and put in a deposit (price for the kit divided by number of people). That way the kits initially paid for. make the mould, make the kit. sell the bits, sell the original. heres a few parts ive loved for years, but could never afford to import. The final konnexion front bar, which ive tried to replicate myself I like it because its smooth, and doesnt look anything like a piece of kit ive seen out there (except the stock 350z ) I think a lot of people dont like this one, but its very uncommon, and i think its a gem. Z-force has it on his zed i think. VeilsideEC2 flushmount.
here you go holmes - http://www.importmonster.com.au/vie...day008-thumb-1289175654319458.jpg&title=Z32 Z
New mold under construction is door infills. I know that competitors are made of polyurethane but the beauty of these fiberglass ones are that they can be shaved down to fit properely. Poly ones stick out from the sideskirts way too much for my liking. Have a look at a pic of Fate's car and you will know what I mean. These will be able to be shaved down sit flush and quite possibly be made to look good with other style side skirts. Ill be looking at $100 a pair for these. Also coming soon are the 2+0 skirts styled on a popular brand. I will be refering to these 2 items as the "squid" infills and skirts.
How about the kit on this red zed (bottom of ad) Never seen this before.... dont know if its a knock off or original to this company? nice lines. http://carlovincriminals.eu/niissan300ZX.html Vulcan
I am keen to get a pair of Carbon doors. What sort of market there is for them beyond me I am not sure. But I sure would like to remove that weight from the race car.
So do I. Its a long term plan for me. Id like to produce CF doors, Hatch and Targas. Im still about a year away from been able to afford it. The R+D and materials to make a mold is costly. The downside of it all is that it will be a small market. I only know about 5 people on the forum who would spend the money for the weight saving. When the time comes that I can make them I will be doing it properely with a few layers of CF not dodgy like the "Majority of CF parts for sale for jap cars" being a top layer of CF and backing it with fiberglass. All these items will be vaccuum infused as well, not hand laid. If I can stay in businees long enough Id like to be able to do this
For this sort of stuff id definitely look outside the z32, as i'm sure you already are. I'd imagine it would be popular with the silvia/skyline peeps and every one else who likes to play drift. Especially if most of the stuff on offer is poor quality.
Have you considered doing anything for the interior? Cup holders to replace the ashtray Hood for guages (or 7" LCD display) on the dash above the stereo Restyled stereo surround to support double-din (or 7") touch displays and car PC screens Restyled steering column "plastics" to support turbo timers and/or shift lights 2K spec arm rests
Ill look into the cup holders. They should be easy enough to make. I actually have a hood for gauges but its for a LHD car. I will eventually convert it over to RHS. Will consider the others but no promises.
2nd the 2k spec arm rests and 7" stereo surrond...also carbon fibre trunk as that would have huge weight eradication and would look cool lol
