i have the Gizmo MsIBC.. runs awesome, mines set at 20 and 24PSI.. i dont use closed loop though (just a setting in the controller).. you could be having an issue with the vac line going to the boost controller, or its plugged into the wrong port, should be coming straight off the inlet manifold but yeah my boost graph is dead flat tuners like to use what theyre used to using and will steer you towards something they are more comfortable with ill be ditching the Gizmo when i install my Haltech in the next couple of weeks just for a simpler, cleaner setup.. but if the haltech doesnt control it as well as the gizmo id happily go back to it whats your base boost set to (wastegate pressure, how much boost you get with the controller turned off, if its too low you will never get good boost control)
Waste gates are set to 13psi, turned off boost creeps up to 18/19psi or so I haven't wound it out in high gears on the street. Its connected to the balance pipe. You can set 3d mapping tables of the boost solenoid duty cycle so hopefully that will sort it out. I'm probably going to get bell mouths made anyway I want to be able to run a low boost setting.
what plugs and gap. 450 is a very solid starting point.. id be looking at your boost controller lines aswell. you shouldnt have anything running to the balance tube at all. it should be coming off the compressor outlet pipe as close to the turbo as possible i drill and tap the pipe with a 6mm nipple and the gates teed together going to the controller .. mws do this aswell helps reduce lag and gets a stronger signal..
Good result mate. It looks like after all those years, it's all coming together. Hope I didn't just jinx it
There are threaded holes on the intake pipes that go to the throttle bodies for 6mm nipples I might hook them up there. It's the only option really there isn't much meat in the alloy boost pipes for tapping threads. The boost lines would have to be quite long though to run back to the solenoid. Thanks ed it's getting there is a round about kind of way.
Boost control through Haltech in open loop. I will have a play with closed loop control now to see if I can get it better. Picked up about 30hp in the midrange.
