Custom Built Door Pods - 300zx Specific

there was this rear pod that I just spotted on one of the Z's from ebay somebody posted up in non technical...

Ahh, I've never seen the back of a 2+2 - I thought you guys would have the same set up as a 2 seater. It shouldn't be too hard to make at all - if someone can sacrifice some standard interior panels (the ones in the pic), I can make a mock up for you guys to pass judgement on.

I'll try and think something up for the 2 seater as well..maybe the cover panel next to the quarter window..

 

I didnt meant the rear seats

Although it is a good idea, but im a 2 seater

I was talking about a boot install for like a 12" sub in each corner.

 

I have already made a set before

Although i want to make a better Pair
And Take a mold
I will see what i can do

 

nah.,..2+2 has a pretty different boot setup...theres no cargo shelf, and the rear suspension tower covers are different

 

i definately want rear pods, for 6x9's as mounting speaker boxes there dosnt look all that nice ^_^car is a 2 seater



see in the pic the piece of plastic my speaker box is sitting on, thats the part im talking about, moulding that up to house a 6x9

 

I just went and pulled that plastic piece off, it doesn't look like it'd be too hard to do, let me cast it in plaster tonight and I'll make a mock up and post pics.

 

awsome, just make sure theres clearance for 6x9's with big baskets and magnet structures

See how you go, I'd definatly buy something to go either there or in the stock location.

Sorry about the delay but most projects have gone on hold over the last week or so, I have been rather busy as i have had to change jobs due to health reasons .


I also have had a SA member with a 2+2 allow me to make mock-ups from his car for sub boxes
And i should be getting guards over the next week for my VE Clubsport style vented guards


I'll post a few pictures ASAP

 

rear speaker pocs 6x9

hey pete just wandering if you have made those rear speaker pods for 2 seater yet?

 

I plan to make these for 10's and 12's in the near future. they'll mount in the back corners of the boot allowing room for targers and rear strut brace :thumbup:

If my first set turn out well for my 10's then I'll start building a few set's for both sizes and post for sale. Might start a GB for these

 

I have some plaster casts complete

I will pm you with a link to the pics once i get some photos,
I have been rather busy with work commitments so most of my projects have gone on the backburner
But i will find some time this week to complete this and the proposed Sub boxes
