    Variouse methods discussed here:

Im going to do it by rigging up my mates laptop and do it with Datascan software.

But read that thread and you will see that there are many ways ;)

Alright thanks mate, only had the car for a week! still working stuff out. someone mentioned earlier about fuel pressure dampeners and fuel pressure regulators, whats the thoughts on them?

Thats what ill be looking into if O2's doesn't fix it for me.

Here's the problem now... same symptoms, but we could have totally diferent causes.

So im still persueing the O2 and ECU line of thought at the mo for mine.

Mine is running VERY rich so I dont think fuel starvation is my issue.

well so far so good. No hesitation...except maying slightly while cruising. But nowhere near as bad as before. Though time will tell i guess.
from what i've read, brad, there could be a million reasons why our cars are having this problem. From what i can tell i've narrowed it down to a few major areas:
    - fuel system
    - electronics/connectors/sensors
    - CAS (relating to the manufacturing issue with the heads)

i would recommend replacing your fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator and fuel dampener by any means anyway, cos that's only about 200 bucks for what should be an improvement of sorts anyway. If you need help i'll take some pics

    resetting ECU did nudda

    So fuel system hey?

Bugger... wish I hadn't just spent $350 on a service
They didn't even fix my squeeky fan belt. :( My bad... i forgot to mention it lol.

Hating this. OK so my first over reaction of "OMG its not drivable" was a little over protective i guess.... but still.

yeah its still easily driveable, just more than a little concerning and annoying while cruising along. Fan belt is easy to fix. Squeaky means one of them is most likely loose and you should find something in the tech section on how to adjust them. Its fairly simple.

by the way can i thank you, ugame, for having a popular thread with the word poo in the title. Cheers to you, sir :D :D :D haha

    With mine.....

Aftern more driving and feeling what its doing, I would now describe it as a definite ?flat spot? that actually seems more dependant on throttle position/direction than on RPM.

Its when you settle back into a gear that it occurs, and then you have to push through again.

Almost as if there was an area of no response on the throttle

Does that give any more clues?

    How "easy" is that?

or.... "how much would a garage cost to do this?" lol and is it something any garage can do, or Zed specialists only?

And are the parts the same for NA and TT?

not sure how much a garage would charge. Took me about an hour to do the dampner and regulator, but that's cos i hadn't done it before and wanted to be careful. Now i could do it in 15-20 mins easy. So a good workshop would be ripping you off charging you more than say 50-100 bucks labour. It's not all too hard just annoying with old brittle pipes etc. I'm no expert or mechanic either dude :p

brad, i got my parts from the US from www.conceptzperformance.com
very easy to deal with. Will accept credit card/paypal etc. Cheap shipping relatively and will arrive generally in under a week.

Sound like it might be sticky EGR... Can't be 100% sure, but it is possible... Especially if you have your foot on the loud pedal enough for there to be little vacuum and no boost.... Pressue for the exhaust gasses might be enough to push the valve open... recycling the gasses through the intake manifold at the wrong time.

It's a long shot but something to think about.

ah cool... erm... whats that then? lol

    easy fix?

i have aftermarket headers on my NA so no more EGR. Same problem before and after installation so it rules that out in my case.

problem not yet fixed guys :( hot day today so heat is looking more and more a likely culprit. Possibly something to do with other electrical connections somewhere...hmm

Ok well my car has been at the mechanic today trying to get this problem sorted out. I just received a call from him now and he says one of the injectors isn't working right so hes replacing it, unfortunately i won't have the car back till Monday. it's about a $500 job but He's very confident that this is the problem so hopefully the Z will be running nicely again on Monday!

let us know how it goes. I would like to get my injectors reconditioned and cleaned depending on the cost. 500 sounds pretty steep but i guess if they're putting in a new one etc then yeah...

Yeah hes putting in a new one and he says its the hardest one to get to. apparently about 5-6 hours work. I will let you know how it goes :)

    yeah let us know hey.

May car seems more and more to be behaving damn it.

So either its due to change in ambient temp, or the recent upperengine clean as allowed for some old nasty carbon build up to get out of the way.

Today drove to Balcatta from Joondalup (about 20min freeway run) and she was gold all the way. I was expecting el diablo to turn up any minute but it behaved all the way from start to finish.

Then when time to go home.... she did it a TINY bit and then cleared.

Bloody odd, coz she was doing it consistantly every single day.

Well i got the car back today and its HEAPS better! but still has the same problem very slightly in a very small rev range (around 2100RPM). He said he replaced 3 injectors and cleaned the other 3. so all i can think of is one of those other 3 is still a little dodge...
