There is always the corrosion inhibitor additives you can add to the fuel if you are concerned .

I was doing a little reading yesterday when I saw mike's post and the general theme was that wet (with water) ethanol blends largely inhibited the ethanol based aluminium corrosion so I guess if you let it sit around for a bit that problem sorts itself out. Not sure what other problems it causes but I'm also not sure how dry various sources of E85 actually are, could all have water in them.

Have had the BDE Gears balanced.

One was out a fair bit with running true to centre and was out of balance
the other not too bad with running true to centre but out of balance.

Also had 2 stock series gears checked out of curiousity and they were within spec as far as running true to centre and balance.

    INTERESTING.

Now Silly me didn't get the old ones checked before I sent them back for exchange.

Very interesting. Have you emailed Brett to let him know this?

Good find. Did you do your exhaust gears too or not worth the effort with the largely reduced weight?
I've been looking into this quite a lot lately and it's looking like aluminium really melts away unless it's anodised. Going to have to be stainless or internally anodised.

yes but seems like pot luck

exhaust gears will be fine ,they are only about 500grams and they are made from scratch not modified stock.

    GT2860RS .... 28psi at 4250rpm
    GTX2863R .... 30psi at 4250rpm

    IDENTICAL IN SPOOL

    GT2860RS ... 400rwkw at 4500rpm
    GTX2863R ... 465rwkw at 4500rpm

    THESE TURBOS ROCK !

    GT2860RS 28psi -25psi .... 492.1rwkw (660rwhp)
    GTX2863R 30psi -26psi ... 565.7rwkw (757rwhp).

(The haltech was only reading 28psi not 30 like the dyno )

very safe tune 11.5 afr and a max of 14 degrees timing

can squeeze more out but don't see the point .. struggling with wheel spin.

    actually hits 565 at 5800rpm !

Did they drop the boost in the high power run so you didn't fry the dyno or have the GT28 housings become a restriction?

You should definitely go to snowy, smash some GTRs for us!
