Yeah definitely, I think you'd like it. I came across Heasmans but simply phoned Spinning Wheels first and they could fit me in on short notice. I don't really get the camber on the rear. I had 3.5* before fender work, fitted the new spacers and one side didn't scrub. Widened fenders, adjusted camber to suit... comes out at 5* probably the ride height. You would have loved the conversation I had with the aligner. He had a rich history in motorsport and wanted to set my suspension to his standards to make the car corner (20mm raise, toe in). I want a hellaflush car that looks cool and doesn't chew tyres, lol. Not the first time I've had to have that discussion.
been to road and race, Spinning Wheels and Heasmans. Car handles best after heasmans. Outstanding and would go there first!!
That'd all depend on what alignment specs were done, and since I request my own that's not a factor to me.
odds and ends When I got my exhaust done last week I had Chris weld down my battery strap bracket. The advice I got earlier was correct; if I had a crash there's no way in hell that single factory bolt would have held. Gave it a quick rattle can job so it looked a bit less cheap too. Swapped in some "aero" wipers, massive aesthetic difference and cost something stupid like $12 the pair delivered from the UK. Need to get another for the rear! I sold off my hard pipes and swapped in some eBay spec silicon boost hoses. They required considerable trimming but are fine. I only lasted a few months with those hard pipes before just concluding "**** this shit" and ordered replacements. These things are just stupid hard to install for what they are and when you spend as considerable amount of time in the bay as I do that's no good. This is where I'm at with the bay. Tuck wise, all that's left to go is the PS reservoir and the brake/clutch booster line. Then just a whole lot of visual fine tuning and copious amounts of smoothing/powder coat. It's a pretty self indulgent exercise so the latter is waiting 'til after the car is painted. I'm still yet to polish the bay either. Been dailying the car for the last two or three weeks now and it feels like a million bucks. I've booked it in to hit the dyno on Tuesday morning @ UAS. Exited! -A
Is it getting tuned or just a power run? What engine mods have you got and how much power are you expecting?
Full tune. I've never even had a power run. Car has a GT 525 high flow turbo kit, big FMIC, full turbo back exhaust, twin pod intakes underneath the headlights (HKS VPC to allow for this), 550cc injectors (with twin feed rail), GReddy Profec B spec II boost controller and for what they're worth one piece driveshaft and chrome molly flywheel. Expecting something around 300 kw at the wheels.
I'll take a guess of about 280kw on a safe tune, higher if you push it. Keen to see what it does make though.
They're basically stock turbos with a bigger CHRA right? Idk much ( anything) about the. 525's. If you could make 280-300kw with not much extra lag over stock, that would be awesome! Good luck man.
That's the plan I bought them simply because I wanted to **** off my old turbos, and these were the cheapest upgrade. The extra 30-40 kw is just a bonus. I just want a lagless street and touge machine.
My car only made 212.6 rwkw on stock turbos. If you made 300kw it would be a fair bit more :/ Wonder how much more I could make if I upgraded injectors. I couldn't go above 13.5 PSI without pinging even with an FPR.
Pretty cool, if I were going to drop that much cash I'd probably save up for a bit more and get something a tad bigger Although, I Spose these turbos would be a good mix of power and reliability when strapping them to a stock engine.
Something's wrong there, lots of Z32's making 250 on stockers... I wouldn't feel that comfortable dailying a car with much more than 20 PSI on a stock motor, haha. Very possible though.
It's funny because it's true. Well I don't know what's wrong there. Shitty tune? Way down on power dude.
Was going to ask the same question about heat. Looks neat and a great idea to gain more clearance but are there any heat issues or plans to put in some sort of heat shield?
I really don't think it's a shitty tune. My tuner is very switched on. That's 2 different tunes of the same engine in a different car with different tuners. My car was on a mainline dyno though which apparently reads way lower than a dyno dynamics. I made a thread about the lower figure and there was a fair bit of info in there.
