LOL n00bs. 2nd on the honda comment. i wouldn't have bought a zed if it wasn't targa. it's one of the things which makes it different from just about all other jap cars. if we cared about what other people thought we'd all be driving silvias and bagging zeds on NS. true T tops are a bit of a throw back to the 70s & 80s where vettes, camaros, firebirds all had them but that's just adds to the coolness and targas off a zed will turn more heads, fact. of course chicks don't dig the targas. their professionally styled $300 haircut and treatment would get blown away. this is where zed T tops are awesome, take driver's side off, leave the passenger side on, problem solved.
From looking at all the zeds that have been for sale in the last 6 months, no, slicktops are not all that rare.... However, it must be said that slicktops that are manual, late model, low k, excellent condition are definitely rare. In fact, I believe that a car of this description would fetch a fair price to the right buyer.:zlove::zlove: In fact, (maybe some members might correct me here) I have NOT seen one slicktop that matches the description above that has been for sale. As with all zeds, even if a zed is slicktop, its still a POS if it's not in a great state. Sorry to rant, but I have seen many adverts, (targa's as well as slicktops) that claim to be "immaculate" "excellent condition" "rare" cars when in fact they are absolutely disgraceful. Not having a go at anyone, but I would'nt touch peoples cars with a ten foot pole if their owners do not know the definition of "immaculate", let alone "clean".:bash:
the slicktops that i looked at when buying another zed were far from immaculate,but the white one which was for sale here was very close-but who the hell wants white lol
Medium Rare... It's the lightest 300zx made. Hardtops are rare, Nissan didn't make too many and the majority of Zeds are Targa's. Hardtop's are lighter than Targa's as well. They do look sleek. But a Targa Top without the Targa's on will always look the hottest. Cheers Rob.

unfortunately, a lot of buyers dont factor in the ratio of maintenance to initial purchase price. POS.... more "foundation for personalised restoration" Those that have immaculate examples, either slicktop or Targa, have spent far more than what the potential sale price will be, so unless for some dire unforseeable circumstance, they will not be offered for sale. (free plug for those like AndyMac's for sale). Will say that mine is a "tidy" example, and to some, even that is an overstatement, but I would give my left nut before I sold her, and I stopped keeping receipts to show just how much its cost me over the years, and that pales in comparison to some others on here. Starting to lean towards advising that people should bite the bullet and buy a known POS, at least then, they know what they're up for, instead of claimed services and maintenance. A solid foundation to start from scratch, where you know what has been done because you personally have overseen it all.
Hey I didnt say it and I aint smoking anything, that car dosent look targa in the picture either? But either way none of them drive honda's, 1 drives a GTS-T (his gf was the one to comment on the targa's in the 1st place tho) she drives a sprinter, my other mate owns a motorbike and dosent drive who thinks it also and dosent even like cars just says they look stupid and stick with the hard top, and my gf says the same also so *shrugs* , if I want want I'll wind down me window, or if I want more I'll jump on me fireblade, plus a few others that have had targas (dads friend owned a porsche and it always use to leak) but like I said I got nothing against them, hell if I sell mine I will probably have to buy one if I want another said, specially in TT cause there is 1 slicktop on carsales for sale out of 200 and its a converted NA.
lol Doubt it, cause a person has a difference of opinion and / or points out some faults, hate to tell you but dosent mean they are jealous. Hell I aint jealous I dont own one, hence why I bought a slicktop

Personally I don't give a damn, i got a slicktop because it was in good condition and looked different in white than say a targa. I don't go bashing either way though, same as i don't jump on the NA vs TT boat. They're both good cars, obviously one is faster than the other. Why did you need your 'mates' opinions on the matter if it was just a personal preference?
