Should be an interesting build and can definately be done, just a lot of work.

I fully intend to do a big engine swap when I have a few spare dollars to my name, but until then I will just have to keep her in as good a condition as I can.

Make sure to keep us updated with cool piccies :)

    Cheers
    Rob

Having an extra 3 cylinders hanging over the front crossmember will most likely negatively affect turn-in.
All the best and I hope whoever does the work does a good job :)

thinking about it as far as engineering goes the fact we have a tt 3 litre 6 cylinder rated to a similar hp as the 2J then a lot of aspects should be safe, it will come down then to the actual build quality of the fabricated parts, taken from my experience with the custom bikes everything ends up having to be X-rayed to keep the boffins happy.

With the 200ZR cross member the RB26DETT drops right in! ;) (for us)

Good luck on the build, as for the turbo setup on the 2JZ, do this!

Now that's a real twin turbo setup, GT35R/GT45R compound kit. (Also in a 300ZX)

I say go hard. Get ready to think outside the box. Your going to need to do funky things with the radiator, kiss the aircon good bye. Consider going dry sump (from hazy memory, the 2jz is front sumped?), mate it up to the zed 5 speed, slot it in, make up some mounts, design your exh manifolds to fit the bay, throw in a m800 ecu, away you go.

I'm sure there are a few additional things you might nieed to do on the way to get it to work :)

2jz can have front or a mid sump depending on what you take it out of. but still needs modding a little :)
