Well, what can i say? Another rebuild thread for all those interested. This time its a little different to the v8 and vg30 ones Owned the beautiful 2+2 Targa Top Z32 TT for about 2 and a half years (as my daily) and this is how she looked when i bought her. 1 year or so later and she looked like this She finally gave in to the daily driving and shat itself. After two and a bit years of owning the car i went on holiday for a week and when i came back i found that one of the hydraulic lifters was starved of oil and rattling like crazy. So i drove it to the local mechanic thinking it will eventually go away and on the way back home after the mechanic gave me a quote, the car had died on me. With the noob driver (myself) "taking care" of it, this was bound to happen eventually. So the plan is to do something different to the usual builds and chuck the mighty 2JZ supra engine in her. The following are obligatory pics when one z owner does a rebuild (taken today). Lame Exhaust Part 1 Awegazm Magic Myself being a creep THE MAIN SHOTS Will keep you guys updated with the progress and look in the for sale section for parts soon to come
Must be a silver zed thing lol Good luck, and if you need any help read this thread.. http://www.aus300zx.com/forum/showthread.php?t=304484 1000hp zed go on
Kudos but kudos for the desire to do a conversion like this, however what were you thinking with that engine crane? you have the arm extended out as far as it can go probably 500 kg mark so lifting a zed engine with a auto box on it would be damn close to 500 kg, bit risky for you and the car IMHO.
na she was more than fine lifting it... needed that extra extension to get it high enough to get outa the engine bay
I'll be keeping an eye on this thread. This has crossed my mind many times while I had the zed. So much so that I started measuring up the engine in my supra and the zed engine bay to see how hard it would be to make it fit. Interested to see how this turns out.
Its going to be a long journey guys but should be well worth it if yous do it preperly. I put a 2j into a 80 series land cruiser. Not an easy task.
I know it will be a long journey, but the outcome will certainly be worth the trip do u want the box andy? its still in very good condition
Just make sure you get your self a half cut and not just a motor. There is alot of stuff in there you will need. And stick with the zed box other wise you are going to run into even more problems.I can get you good falf cuts when you decide to get one.
keep your eye out for a internal gated 35/40 because the twins don't fit in the zed and use a good 6boost manifold as the china ones crack really fast.
ive seen the twins in a zed bay before chris... if there is a will there is a way, remember that.... yeah anthony and i have already discussed a lot of this stuff about boxes and half cuts etc...
