i browsed through but really didnt find much? where did u get the 2 tests you just mentioned? are those wires referring to the wires coming into the fuel pump? there no orange wire...there is yellow. gives diff voltage to what you mentioned though...

These tests are from a ttnet post.

There is a test in electrical components of EF and EC which is pretty much those I listed, except they are explained more in the ttnet post.

And its for the FPCU, not the fuel pump.

    *********UPDATEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!***********

    ok kool thanx

    UPDATE:

ok tonight i went on a good drive. did some hwy driving, street driving still drove a1. took it to the mountains gave it a good run, still drove a1.

prob drove for about 3 hours, twisties, etc and still drove beautiful. no hicupps at all... was turned off when i got something to eat, then a good drive again and still no hicupps. pretty much just how it is and was...

i havnt changed anything. still s1 ptu, same fpcu etc etc.

although i did take the fpcu out and opened it up cleaned the circuit board well and installed back in. so really i dont know if it was that or not :bash:

regardless i still have the spare fpcu and working s1 ptu sitting in the car...the reason i went out tonight for a very good drive was so it could break down again and i can quickly change over the fpcu to the working one and pin point thats my exact problem. or the ptu... :bash:

for all i know it could have even just been a connection. but i have inspected all my connections, plugs etc and everything looks sweet. or it could have even been the fpcu, and after a good clean of the circuit board its what was needed. i dunno  :bash:

shits me yes but guess it brang a smile to my face again on the drive i had 2night with no symptoms. really wierd....

it could of even been the simple matter of the fuel pump fuse in the engine bay. but then again it did start at times. maybe the fuse was buggard but at times was still touching wires together and itd start and then not start when the wires untouched. meh :bash: :bash:

if it happens to me again i will update this thread....

ok thought id update this incase anyone has similiar problems.

i dont know which would be at fault but you guys can decide that. i think as some have mentioned it was all the fpcu's fault.

since the problem (cars an auto) it kind of felt the fuel pump was only running in 2 speeds. the tt version runs at 3speeds. bit hard to explain but usually when you half throttle from cruising speeds it would shift down and spool up etc. it felt like it just spooled up with no other reaction. this obviously would be dangerous (detonation etc) so i wasnt doing it heavily just feeling what it was doing. sometimes id have to even shift down a gear manually and then when im ready to shift to third id manually move the stick.

so anyway i have changed the fpcu to a complete working one. and at the same time i have changed my ptu to a series 2 ptu. i have also changed my spark plugs from iridium 1.1gap to iridium 0.8gap, not that it has anything to do with the problem.

now the car is absolutly fine. no problem with the shifting etc. sweet as can be :D . also i dont know if the ptu series 2 gives better spark or my ptu 1 was dieing but it just feels better. response, ignition etc. could also be just because i have new plugs in lol. best thing is i also got rid of a missfire i had somewhere beyond 3500rpm. :D. maybe the iridium 1.1 were too hot to run around 17psi. revs out oh so smoothly all through gear

anyway they are the things i have changed since the incident. car runs great. feels really nice. kthnxbye :D:zlove::zlove:
