We could have a cruise to yarram fairly staright 110kph the up through the hills to mirboo north for the best pies in gippsland or not (lot of good bends with reasonable road surface but great views then cruise to inverloch for a quick inspection of the water then into pub for a hot luch and cold beer. The cruise home has the choice of nice and straight or back through the hills for some very wicked bends and a straight run home. Whatdya think?

Anybody could have come to the VHCC meet at Shepparton that wykked competed in last weekend; he put the meet up in the coming events forum. I didn't arrange a cruise as my going was dependant upon external issues; I ended up going.

Even for the Phillip Island event which I organised a cruise for, there were more forum members on track (6) than made the cruise (5), which I thought was disappointing. Stuff like this has been going on every month, it's just that very few people seem to garner enough enthusiasm to attend.

Might I suggest keeping Sunday Sept 19th free for a cruise to the DECA centre in Shepparton? I will be competing in the Magna, along with various other forum members in Zeds in the 3rd NDSOC Nissan vs Ford FPV & XR owners event. This means I will be leaving about 6am, so if a spectators cruise leaving later needs to be arranged, perhaps someone else can step up? If you are still in the dark, then read this. If you are going to watch, give support, and enjoy a 350-400km drive then there is no entrance fee; plenty of opportunities to take pcs/vids of Zeds in action; and the opportunity to catch up.

    sadly this doesnt happen

as with the organised events, the same 'core' people not only seem to attend but also be he organisers.

There are (from my perspective) 3 groups of Vic Zedders, Geelong crew, Bendigo crew, and the eastern crew. its often the case that an event is organised in the specific area and this makes it harder for others to attend....

    EG:
5.5hour drive for me to attend a Philip Island run
3hour drive for an event in Bendigo

& thats just getting there and does not include the return trip home
The driving hours dont bother me.... its turning up only to find its you and 2~3 others as Col stated in his experiance.
    :bash:

We should probably be having meetups at a location that was more "central" to all of us..... just north of Melbourne for example....
    ;)

I have thought of organising a "Super Challenge" run but doubt there'd be the intrest let alone attendee's ...... the idea was ....

a challenge between Vic & NSW to see which state can get the most ZX's at a designated point thats as close to halfway between Sydney and Melbourne as posiable......
Sydney - Melbourne is roughly a 10 hour run and we meet up at a town along the Hume at the 5 hour point.... making it a 5 hour run for both Vic and NSW members....
Also a great way to meet our counterparts from both perspectives.

The Super Challenge would not just be between Vic & NSW, ... QLD could challenge NSW to a similar meetup..... hell even W.A could challenge Vic, S.A could challenge Qld etc etc the state with the highest number of Zeds attending takes the trophy home for bragging rights until they are challenged and loose the trophy....
    [TIS]

I even have a trophy sitting here that could be used, nice silver platter thats ready for engraving

Sadly...... I doubt there'd be the intrest let alone attendee's
Yet winter would be the perfect time for such an event, after all, we Victorians would be heading to warmer weather.

I have the GOR on the last Sunday in November :D
Goldfields run will also go again in March :D
I have my plans for Zumpstiens (early Febuary atm ) ;)

    &
Super Challenge...... a pipe dream ?????

    what are your plans

This is what i was thinking Kingy. I unfortunately have a few requirements for me to find a event worth attending.

1 For one i dont like mixed import cruises, as i find too many idoits in other cars think their beast is the top dog at the event and then drive like an idoit to get everyone's attention, which i hate. You also get owners who think and talk like their ride is better, faster and stronger then every one else's car and bag the shit out of the 300 for what ever reason. This is not what i want to have at a cruise event or show. I love the 300 and i would rather look at 30 different zeds then a all those other import cars.

2, The distance between where i live (Altona West suburbs) and the event location is not like 3 hours or more away as it is pointless for me to attended unless i know 15 or more zeds will attend because its a big annual event.

3, I also hate cruises that end up in Whoop Whoop, where i have no idea where i am. That's the beauty about the GOR where we start in Melbourne and end in Melbourne. I have at least the confidence to know i wont get lost on the way home.

4, Sometimes small cruises are better then 5 hour cruises for me. It has some advantages i like but not every will like it. M y cruise (Western Coastal Cruise) only goes for 3 hours tops and i think that plenty of time. But everyone is different.

5, What ever happened to the massive once a year Tech day we are suppose to have in Vic? The last one i went to was the Wykked one and that for me was awesome. 40 cars turned up and everyone was walking around checking each others cars out. I found it great looking at everyone's cars and seeing what mods or optional factory features that had and i was able to talk to and even help other owners work on their cars and get to meet new people. This is what im looking for at the moment. Rods tech day last year was great too and i think we need another one as big as that again.

    The problem with Tech days...

is that someone has to host them. For as long as I've known him, Wykked has always had his door open for zed related stuff, and as such has had many tech days. In the past, I used to hold the annual Jedi tech day at my folks place (the last one was about 4 years ago). But I no longer live there and my new house is just not suited to having 30-40 zeds parked out the front. Some other folks on this forum have organised tech days which have been well attended... Maybe in summer will see some more tech days :) I for one, dont like working on my car when its freezing cold outside :)

    C'mon mikey....

going to a proper motorsport event to support your friends just isnt cool :) All the cool kids wanna go on night cruises, meet up at a Macca's somewhere, and then cruise down the highways till they reach their final destination and then drive like idiots in industrial areas or in the mountains somewhere :) C'mon mikey, get real..... fully sik bro !

yes group DECA cruise would be good. The first NDSOC deca we had a few non competing zeds (what ever happened to GOTBLZ?), didn't get that many last time. would be good to see more spectators, it's a good day and lots of good viewing spots and maybe even passenger rides on the skidpan/backtrack (if you have a helmet). plus you get to see the Jedimobile racing.

I will definately host a Tech Day but that's not gonna happen anytime this year as
my project starts at the beginning of next year. I've only been on one cruise event
so far (VIC events #3) and it was great, just wished there was something like that
involving Z's only - we only had like 3 Z's there out of over 130 cars

Just curious also... for this Great Ocean Road run... does it involve OTHER generation
Z's as well?? Or just Z32's?? Would be good to have Z's from other gen's sometime,
have a historic line up meet or something. Z Evolution cruise lol
