I arrived home at 2:30 pm today and parked my car in the carport. Got out of the car and went down to check the letterbox. Walking back up the drive and the car starts to roll down toward me. I try to stop it but realised that I can't stop it and get out of the way. I then watch horrified as it rolls down the driveway, across the road and into the tree. Luckily it hit the tree instead of going into the house opposite. My fault, I forgot to put it into park while the turbo timer was in action. I also forgot to put the parking brake on. I thought that the carport was level! It is. Must have been a reaction when the engine switched off. I'm still shocked. The car has been towed to the repairers an now I have to wait to find out if it will be written off or not. My neighbour has been watching me do all the work on my Z recently - 100K service, seat retrims, larger radiator and trans cooler installed, etc, etc and asked what I would do with my spare time now. I hope that whatever, I'll have a Z to drive at easter.
DUDE!!!!!!!!!! that looks sooooo bad... i feel soooo sorry for you, I'd like.. almost cry at that sight if it was my car. So atleast you have insurance yeh??

OUCH!!!! That really sucks dude, sorry to say this but it will be a write off, no question about it... Which repairer has it gone too?
Thanks guys I'm still in shock. Although I wasn't in the car and wasn't hurt, I had just installed the new radiator etc yesterday It's gone to Grace Smash Repairs in Fyshwick - was insured with Famous etc. If it's a write off, I'll get it back and buy another. Done too much work to give it away. See my garage. Might have someone who could repair it privately if a writeoff.
sorry to say, shes a gonna....... hope your insurance sorts you out one way or the other,feeling for you big time
since your zed seems to have a motor in good condition in it.. if they let you keep it why not buy an NA and stick your engine in there?
Mate sorry to see. OUCH. When i read the desciption i was thinking "wtf, i could have stopped it" but then i saw how steep the drive is. OUCH. YOu did the right thing. life > zed now down to business... how much for those loverly leather seats i see there? Na... hope you can get her fixed mate. Id be damn gutted.
i dont see 10 grand of damage??? im sure you had it insured for a little more than that as well. sucks to hear dude. as long as there isnt alot of hidden damage i would def look at repairing it :zlove:

Bad luck mate but at least you had the good sense to get out of the way and not try to stop it. You can always buy a new Zed but your life is worth a bit more I think. Good luck with things. Tony
without sounding bad, at least there was a tree in the way and it didnt roll into someones house...possibly killing someone
