    Use a run in oil (follow manufacturers instructions) followed mineral oil for the first 10000kms.

    Take it easy on the boost during the run in oil period.

    Get it tuned properly so as you're not over fueling during run in.

    The rings are the only part that "wear" in, so there's no harm on holding off on the synthetic oils.

    Mineral Oil for the first 10000km... isn't that too long to run on mineral oil's?

    What mineral oil do you recommend Rob?

    Yeah I thought it sounds like a long time but keep in mind most new cars (with brand spanking new motors) don't get an oil change until 10000.

    Not sure what oil and I'm not a mechanic so don't want to give out too much specific advice -just passing on what I've been told.

    You want to let the rings wear in, otherwise you can have smokey motor even if the compression rings are ok. Running a full synthetic too soon can mean the oil rings dont seal properly.
