IMO if you want a manual. Its easier just to buy the car you want. Irrespective of gearbox type. Assuming your not paying more for a gearbox you don't want. If its an auto. Burn it out. Rip it out. Throw it out. And buy a manual conversion.:D:D:D

Found the problem with this zed. It's running on 5 cylinders the coil pack for cylinder 6 is loose. Yay!

The heat from the centre console could be the two rubbers, around the shifter, are missing or not attached properly.

I just asked a question in another thread which might be relevant for you.

Is your accessory fan running all the time?
Is the yellow temp sensor plug connection dodgy?

Don't mechanics charge approximately $100 an hour?

What do you mean by the accessory fan?
And I'm not sure with the sensor I don't quite follow you :/

    Cheers

$90, but l used to have a mechanic down the road who charged $50.
    (very busy)
Worked on my non turbo once, then told me he was retiring

PS: Justin? Have you got 2 Zeds now?

Yellow plug coming off the harness, next to the other one on the water pipe front/centre of engine, behind fan.

Yeah I might do it my self yet.

Yep got two zeds. Both 1990 one good nic and auto. Then the manual one I have been talking about.

What is that sensor your talking about? I think I know where it is. But the car is running really good now. When I bought it the coil pack was off on cylinder 6 so was only running on 5 cylinders. Heaps better now.
