xr6t has a great powerplant setup and good potential but that is where the buck stops. I would bet stock v stock a 300zx would eat the xr round a track. They might make massive power but...
    1. Depreciation 50% in first 2 years
    2. Technical dionosaurs, current xr's are using technology found in zeds built 20 years ago
    3. They look crap compared to a 300.
    4. And they handle like a ford.

Umm, you won't have to spend 10 grand if it's in decent condition.

Also, perhaps you'd like to read the thread title? 300zx VS xr6t. So it's also about the 300zx. d00d.

    1. it was street tyres
    2. it was a fkn hot day
    3. its only his 2nd time on the 1/4mile track
    4. give him some m/t's and watch his 60ft go below 2sec and watch him blow a high 11 if not very low 12 in your face

You won't extract good power from a $5k TT for $10K. You'd spend the $10K on a rebuild and then start to chase power with "bolt-on's"

To many poorly maintained zeds out there these days, some of the guys thinking $5K will get them something worth parking in the driveway is slightly delusional.

If you want something in decent condtition to start using "bolt-on" mods then budget closer to $12K-15K for the purchase price

    Thought you

were the one spending 10 grand to mod it.
    Read the title, childish eh.

Overall I agree. But keep in mind that zeds are only worth what people are prepared to pay. Under the right circumstances a 10k TT can easily become a 5k TT.

I said you won't need to spend 10k to fix it up (you said earlier you would have to spend 10k to fix up a 5k TT).

    Read your own posts, eh?

Lets say you hit 270rwkw best case scenario, your car still won't come close to 116mph trap speed, so theres no comparison with an xr6t

Perhaps not. Wasn't saying that it would beat a xr6t with same mods. Just saying that when Chad saying his friend's xr6t has "only" 4 grand worth of bolt ons, it's a decent figure; ie you could get a 270 rwkw zed and be beating majority of cars on the road.

I don't. Have you bought a TT for 5 grand before? If not, you're not in a position to make an accurate observation are you?

kirill stop getting ahead of urself dude, because if you dont have a 270rwkw zed then you dont have an accurate observation either on this subject.

Yeah my brother in law had a xr6turbo ute worked of its tits, now this thing was fast as hell on the straight but he would take it like a granny around a corner, mostly because its so top heavy because of the tray,
He just recently bought a R33 GTR, and he rekons the ute was faster and this 33 does low 12/11's down the quarter with a screwed up clutch. I failed both times racing them. :(

Mate, you don't buy good condition TT's for $5K, I've looked at at least 10 in the last 6 months for people who want a TT and have less than $7K.

    EVERY SINGLE ONE WAS RUBBISH.

So I do believe I'm in a position to make an accurate observation.

So can better my ability to make an accurate observation? and obviously I'm far too critical of my judge of condition of these $5K masterpieces.

Sorry if I offended you or your buddy Chad. But keep an eye on the conversation, I'm not talking about a 270 rwkw zed at the moment. I'm talking about buying a zed for 5k and then needing another 10k to fix it.

Oh and you don't need to chime in to defend Wizard, i'm sure he can type for himself. :bash:

Up your arse? something bothering you.:D
You don't know what iv'e bought, Been a zed owner for 8 years, pulled apart and rebuilt enough of them to know a thing or two about them, think next engine pull will be #9.
And i'll say again, buy one for 5k and you will still need a shit load spent on it to get it up to scratch.

Okay, when I said a 5k TT, it was just to illustrate the maximum price difference between a TT and a xr6t. Okay, so buy a TT for 10k, it will still be cheaper than an xr6t leaving you with cash to play with on mods.
