Good news guys,
Samples have arrived to Aus today,and I will be collecting it from FedEx depot tonight.
Will take photos tonight, organise the samples and post it to you tomorrow.
There is only 3 states currently on the list. Is this because buyers are happy with the photos only?
If not, can we please finalise get it finalised asap

im abit confused.....you said 3 more people to go....is this a group buy, though we could buy at any time. I mean i was going to wait about 3 weeks till i finish hsc and then order 3 M or extra material but if you need to know now then i better get cracking in finding what colour im really after...

I have managed to collect the samples from FedEx finally,
What a day! Hectic at work and hope didn?t get booked on the way to FedEx!

There are some great news,
All colours will be made available for selection.

There wasn?t enough sun light left by the time I received the samples today, so took the basic photos inside the house.
This is to give you an idea what colours will be made available.

Tomorrow morning I will take proper photos of each colour under natural light with my fancy 8 mps camera and publish it around the lunch time.

I would love to see them in person because colours on a PC monitor can sometimes be deceiving...

Hopefully this buy can be up and running soon...I really wanna have the interior done before Christmas...

I got serious doubts about sending samples away,
the reason for this is that;
- I have only received one set of samples, as seen on photos. I dont really want to cut pieces out of this, as it is very limited in size already.
- The photos needs to be taken under natural light to show the correct colouring. I got a really good camera, with that the colour on your screen will be %98 accurate.
- If decided to send the samples, I will rather send the current one I have only, and it has to travel each state back and forth after one another. This will delay things around a month.
- I will start production of mid size orders of FTOs very soon, if we act quickly and not waste much time, i can include the 300zx orders into that list as well. Otherwise production has to wait till those order finalised.
- If you guys would like to feel the texture of the material, i am happy to send sample grey or black colour to you still.

 

Further to my above comments, there will be holiday period for production and myself between mid December till mid Jan.
To get the covers in this year, I need to finalise ordering and finance latest by mid Nov,
otherwise, it will be too late to receive it all within this year.

I don't know how to put this without sounding like an a$$hole... BUT, there is no way you can guarantee a colour match of 98%, no matter how good your camera is. It's not about that. It's about different monitors displaying colours VASTLY differently to each other, even within the same brand and models. Not even mentioning how each individual user decides to set their screens up, something of which you have no control over. Again, I don't want to sound like an a$$, but being a graphic designer, it is an ongoing, and very real problem and I actually know what I'm talking about! Evn with a colour calibrated worflow from camera to monitor to output device etc it is EXTREMELY difficult to get accurate colour matching on computer monitors.

Now, that may not be an issue for people wanting to redo all of their interior, near enough may well be good enough, but I've already re done the rest of my interior except for the seats and want to be able to match the colour I've alread done, and I suspect I'm not the only one. And there's no other way to do that without getting the actual material and going out to the car and holding them up together.

I understand you've only got one set of samples, and if it's not a viable option for you to send samples out, that's cool, but it means I will have to withdraw my EOI as I can't be sure of the colour I'll ACTUALLY be getting.

None of this is meant as a slight against yourself or your product, but I've got a colour to match, and there's just no way to do it from digital pics on screen.

I understand very well that you need a colour to match for your specific application.

Also, thanks for the tech info.
Just for the note, I am an IT project manager, which also spent years in software development as well. So, I wasn?t crapping too much without any idea regarding to accuracy of the colour.
The moral is that the colour will be displayed on the screen will accurately give the idea to what to expect for the buyer. However, in your case, you might require to physically match the material against your interior, which is a very specific application.

I was thinking of quickly making a web app that will store orders for each buyer. This will give better presentation of the orders and easier to manage.
This might be done this week, but cant promise.
Until then we will keep going witht the list we have in the forum
