    300ZX Dual intake GB

I've been looking at dual intakes for some time now, but have been less than enthused at the pricetag attached to some of these overpriced pieces of pipework

A new source was found recently that could supply some custom made Silicon elbows & T-Bolt clamps that should do the job at a fraction of the price of the hardpipe kits.

The dual intake proposed in this GB will consist of a pair of BLACK silicon elbows to replace the Nissan "Y piece" intake that exists on the 300ZX. This modification will free up the airflow of the "restrictive" standard system, allowing the engine to breathe better.

Also included will be 2 pairs of Stainless Steel T-Bolt clamps for use on the Silicon elbows.

We need 15 participants for this GB, and the entire kit will be available at a price of $65

A $35 deposit will be required when you place your order (fully refundable if GB fails to proceed), and the whole lot should fit in a $10.70 Postpak . The GB will run for about a month (or until MOQ is met) and I will keep everyone appraised of any progress.

I'm pretty sure you'll have to use a MAP sensor or get a dual intake kit with another AFM like the Sellin one that coz sells

    Further clarification....

There are a number of methods used when installing dual intakes on a zed.
The most common seems to be using an AFM and a dummy AFM. Another method is to use two AFM's. A third (but less common method) is to use a MAP sensor.

The MAP sensor method is less common because it involves a major change in hardware. The other two methods are more common because they can be simply done via Nistune, Zemulator, Selin translator, Apexi AFC or simply changing your chip.

A lot of members already have one of the aforementioned "tuning tools" fitted to their zeds, but for those that don't.... the simplest (and cheapest) method is to use a dummy AFM and have another chip burned to suit.

All Dual intakes will require you to use one of the methods mentioned because the ECU has to be able to recognise the altered airflow.

    Thought about AFM's.....

but decided it was simpler for anyone who wanted a 2nd AFM to source it themselves.

Firstly, why would this only work on a TT? Ive currently got the HKS style dual intake and was wondering what the difference between this and what ive got right now would be? Also does anybody have a pic of what it would look like once installed? Thanks guys.

    Well....

While it technically works on an NA, it is a very much useless mod.

the difference between this setup and your current setup or even a single pod setup is virtually nothing, same goes for stock - low power TT's.

I would use dual intakes from around 300rwkw onwards

    Benefits of Dual intakes....

In the US they've been applauding the benefits of dual intakes for years.

Here's a "plain English" quote from Greg D. (Specialty-Z) in the US in relation to gains from dual intakes.

Anyone doubting the benefits of a free flowing intake, should replace their pod filter with the Oem airbox/filters and see if they still think restriction makes no difference to performance

Run a parallel GB for the Selin Kit and you would find more punters. Ill be in for a selin GB if one comes around.

    We're ''up and running''....

The Dual intake GB has officially "kicked off"

I had made some enquiries regarding the Selin Translator, but I wasn't sure if there would be enough support. If you have an interest in the S/T as well, then drop me a PM and we'll see if we can get some numbers together.
