couldn't find anything on the 34" subby you're talkin about

i checked the audiobahn website the biggest sub they have is an 18"

and that one is nowhere near as powerfull as the one i got.

    mine's 1800WRMS with 4" dual 2ohm voice coils

if you have any pics or websites that have this "alleged" sub... i'd luv to see it

    thanks mate

I have seen a 34" sub in action in the back of a wagon and it sounded

Well under OH & S Laws....

they state that 85db is the maximum and safe limit to be exposed over an 8 hour working day.
But doing this day in and day out over 40 years will result in an 18% hearing loss according to studies.

The exposure limit for the following is equivalent of 85db over 8 hours.

    95db - 48 mins
    105db - 4.8 mins
    115db - 28 secs
    125db - 2.8 secs
    135db - 0.28 secs

So theoretically if your sound system is 115db all u need to do is listen to it for 28seconds everyday for 40 years to lose 18% of your hearing.

    so according to your stats...

knowing that my sound system last time i measured it with the 2x12" JL's was 138.6db... and i had it pumping at the same level for about 4months... everyday to and from work lets say 20 min each time. and when i went cruising and pretty muhc everytime i was in the car.

what percentage of my hearing have i lost?

and say the percentage nice and loud so i can hear u...

    hehehehe...

some call me stupid, for listening to music at that level. some speed, some do drugs, some kill for fun, this is what i get enjoyment from and its a personal thing. i know that it isn't good for my hearing and most would never listen to music as loud as i do. but its me... ehhh i'm not complaining...

when i sit in my car and i put my music up, i forget about everything else in the world, nothing matters...
(sorry if that sounds too much like a fast and furious quote)

when my grandma passed away... the only thing that calmed me down was listening to a calming song in my car. its not about looking cool... its about enjoying what you have and luving life.

hope this all makes sence... its all true and from my heart...

    your subby

must you remember with your big mofo sub, that you have a zed, with a tiny little enclosure.
you don't need an 18" sub..

    my sealed 12" kicks panties.

but i guess if you've taken your spare out to custom the room for it, i guess you'll have something to roll on if you have a flat!

    enjoy the g'ould

    Sam....

Not sure how much hearing you would lose, but there are people out there that can do hearing tests, ill get you more info as they are coming out to my workplace soon.

Besides that, in my old VN i had a 12" cerwin vega sub pumping all the time.....i miss those times:LOL:

One day down the track i will also get a sub into the zed, cause 6x9's arent bloody loud enough to listen to doof-doof.

Come to think of it i thought there was a law on how loud your system can be, something to do with emergency vehicles that you will not be able to hear there sirens.

Re: couldn't find anything on the 34" subby you're talkin about

    sorry dude.
    i can't find the 34" anywhere.
the site has changed a bit though with a few updates. i think i may have an old catalogue from them with it. if i do i'll scan it in for you.
when i saw it i wanted to buy one of those mini's that look like vans and just build a huge box and have it pointing to the gods. it would probably rip the roof off.
but you would need some quality amp as it runs at 5000Watts continuous(rms).
    love the subby though.
i'm goin for 2 15's and as i have the 4 seater i'm gonna say see ya to the useless rear seats and build right to behind the front seats (not quite there with the money yet though).
since your in vic when you get the system in we must catch up and i wanna see the install.
i'm trying to get as much info about installs as possible before i start so i can go louder.
yes my number plates aren't quite correct (dB car) as i only have 2 6.5" 2 ways in the thing. i've got 1 12" coming that i'm gonna throw in till i get the money for the install.
