i'm pretty happy with my times last night.. so i thought id show off.. haha i'm a drag noob, last night was my first go.. 14.27, 14.4.. i was assuming 14s when i rocked up so i was happy(see profile for car specs) then i pulled a 14.009 after a massive burnout (yes i know its wank, but its fun.. should be a vid in post even discussion after the weekend) but i was sooo close to that 13 i could taste it now.. anyways, then i managed to wrap out a 13.77 @ 161kph followed by a 13.82 @ 160kph haha, and that was after i stalled it on the dry burnout box.. so i'm stoked.. all this on stock 9psi of boost and a car thats running sweet (read lots of work), bar a slightly smokey turbo will be good once my front mount comes and i get a chip and tune for 15psi.. then i will probably need some new turbos after i blow the back out of these old ones anyone thinking about going down the drags? just do it.. it loads of fun and pretty harmless to your car if you skip the burnout

Re: Haha he's addicted nah, i think its because the oil heated up more than usual so was thinner.. it went away when she cooled down.. back to normal now.. couple of months me thinks

Re: you suck! haha.. i'm glad you made into the staging lanes rather than the stands for a change though mike.. tis cool huh i think you could crack the 12s.. but if i were you id get your ecu socketed and tuned, youll easily make it there on 13psi.. you were so close as it was.. could probably make it there now practice my car isnt stock either.. just stock boost she has tune agent dumps full mandrel bent SS exhaust with metal cats and straight through cannons only (pretty loud) (no x-pipe) apexi power intake pod UR billet ally underdrive pulley Fidanza billet ally flywheel chinese ripoff stillen manual quick shifter oh and i think the engine bay bling and momo wheel makes a HUGE difference too.. haha :thumbsup:
yeah I'm not sure I could have done much better so while I could probably get a 12.9, I need to beat Franz and Scotty now so think I'll wait til I do an upgrade. My ECU has a tuning company sticker on it but the ECU isn't socketed so dunno what's up with that, I might have a dyno run after I get dumps and check the A/F. Can you log timing with any of the consult software? I'll be interested to see how you go winding up the boost with your mods.
Thats pretty good. On par with my zed when I got it. Ran 13.6 @ 102mph. Although it was only running on 0.34bar. I thought my zed was a freak, obviously not.
that is good but what about me! haha no, I'm just amazed that a seemingly sick Z with its misfire at idle and low compression in one cylinder (gotta check that again) is capable of 12's with nothing but an HKS pod and $30 boost controller. Just to be able to say Z's can run 12's with the most minor of mods is pretty sweet! Yeah there are some unknowns, I'm not sure if my ECU has been tuned and my exhaust may be slightly better than stock but is kinda messed up with 2.25 fronts running to 3" cat back. I've really gotta hit the dyno, maybe see if that exhaust place in Wangara will do another $30 dyno day.
Good effort too Mike. So close to a 12. But saying that... my 12 second pass was done on stock dumps and stock intercoolers; just a cat back 2.25" system, pod filter, boost and a mild tune (ie 275rwhp). What pressures were you guys running in the tyres?
when i did the 12.796 that was with 393RWKW, haven't done anything to up the power since, next time I go to the drags will be when I get some slicks for the rears to improve 60ft time and try and break into high 11s. I just can't get a decent launch with my circuit tyres.
ah yea shoulda guessed from your MPH you had some good power.. did you also lose traction in other gears?
mostly 32 after real bad traction at 25 on the first run but I'm guessing the track was the problem then, last run was at 28 psi and was much better.. I'll probably start there next time and drop it a bit through the night. Glad you kept note of your hp, if I have anywhere near that I'll go again before upgrades. Come to think of it I did get 260hp last time at the dyno, I've fixed a couple of boost leaks and got rid of some restriction in the exhaust since but going by our mph I think I might still be a little down on yours, will soon see.
