wow. just read your restoration thread. nice work man. you've put in some serious spanner time and it shows. Like the custom shifter knob, and the CF dash. looks great. Keep up the good fight.
Gotta have at least one wank factor mod Cheers bud! Comments like these keep my motivation up, thus keeping this thread rolling. Always appreciate it! New parts going in at the end of the month so stay tuned!
Ok kiddies so I got some coilovers this week, these where a cheap spur of the moment ebay snipe. Unknown spring rates, GTR Bilstien ones, good enough for some temporary adjustable hight. I thought id get some snaps of the install so If anybody searches " Coilover Install " they will find this and hopefully it helps them along. Remove all the inner boot trims as to access the upper shock mounts. So you will need a floor jack, jack stands and some wheel chocks. Jack the car up and support it in a stable safe spot like so (don't forget to chock the front wheels): Remove the rear wheels so you can gain access to the rear shock. Basically all you have to do is remove the lower bolt holding the shock to the axle and the two nuts holding the shock to the body of the car. Now to remove the lower shock bolt you will need a 17mm spanner and 17mm socket with breaker bar. These can be done up really tight so it might pay to spray the nut with crc or similar. You may also need an extension bar to add some extra torque. Lucky for me the breaker bar was enough to crack the nut loose. To remove the top nuts of the sock you will just need a 12mm socket. Once you have all the nuts off to pull the shock out i found the easiest way way to put the breaker bar on the bolt of the upper control arm and push down while jimmying the lower shock bolt out. Then you can wobble out the shock from its position and out from the car. Then to fit the coilover you simply just reverse the process, then adjust hight ect to your personal preference :br: Oh and I thought I'd have a crack at the "Rod Pose" (mind the crappy compressed resolution) Happy New Year to all you Zed drivers out there! May 2012 bring you good modding luck and lets hope we see some rebuilds hit the road once again
na its could be security at work, when you post pics hosted on fb for example they are cut out... either that or our turkish client is filtering what we can see like china lol
No slammage photos yet. cbf winding coilovers up n down! Got dicked on friday night. Pigs where trying hard to pick out stuff on my car, took some convincing it wasnt turbo. They ended up getting me for camber worn tyres. Borrowed a set of weds for the time being. 235x45 up front and 255x40 down back. bit more low and spacers up front would do the trick if they where mine.
