comparing yours to robs is like you and me comparing dick sizes, you lose big time-search robs build thread
Boost pressure means very little in the HP stakes. Larger turbo's will move a larger volume of air at less pressure. Coupled with higher lift cams, ported heads and manifolds which will provide even less restriction to the charge, resulting in even less boost pressure, but significantly more air in the cylinders.
the targa is hollywood... so hollywood... but if I wanted to build a 1/4mile zed it be a slicktop with a TT LS2.
Yea but have you ever driven a Z with the targas off? without targa's you don't get the full Z experience or the girls.
are you allowed to race with targa's off? I dont think so BUT if you were, wouldn't a Targa minus the glass be lighter than a slick top? (question)
No disrespect to Slick tops, however, I think slicktops were marketed by Nissan as a Basic body version to the Targa Tops (Evidenced in a few Z series books). Although, T Tops have a chunk of roof missing they are only slightly less rigid than the Slick top (Again, evidenced in some Z series books). I guess some positives are less weight and a smoother look, however again, I mean this as no detrement to Slick tops.
Slicktop was a no cost option (In the US anyway) over the targa which was standard. They are rarer than a Targa, and are worth more to the right person. It must be said that the girls like the Targa's more
marketed so they could race them in Japan ,if they were that popular, why did they make so few?,there was an ulterior motive
rarer doesnt necessarily mean worth more. Horses for courses. Some, myself included, prefer the slicktop... more prefer the Targa. Guess that was Japans motive for comparitive production numbers Dont think mine will ever get to the HP stage where I would take advantage of the extra rigivity (mind spelling) of a Slicktop, just preferred the lines. Same debate for 2 and 4 seaters. Some like having the back seat, mine is a 2 seater (my friends have their own cars and children are far from a consideration). Only thing that is for certain is that BLACK is, without a doubt, the best colour
would be lighter but the -ve force of the wind coming in the roof catching in the boot causing a slower time
Yeah I have, everyone I know that isent on the forum actually (no joke, not just the guys, the chicks too!) laughs at targa's and thinks they are really old fasion type of thing (I personally dont mind them I just prefer slicktop for stated above reasons) kinda just adds to the reason I dont want a targa ontop of my own personal reasons
How many of those drive a honda? people who don't have them always try to give them crap. Chicks love them and always ask about it. On the street I cant feel any difference between targa and slick top. People still drive convertibles but IMO targas are much better and the reason most other cars dont have them is they are a luxury option for any car which most manufacturers don't even offer.
