Bought a new MAF and pod filter and adapter, fitted them up and boy oh boy what a difference, smoother start, better take off, still need a tail shaft balance tho. And still need it tuned just right, but that'll happen when the plenum pull is done and rocker cover gaskets replaced.
Drove it to sydney and back to see how it performed. Had a rear tyre undress itself on the highway drive home. Repaired the rear cargo blind.
Yellow LEDs for my clear side indicators. Green brighter LED for my cluster indicator lights, so I won't forget they are on again (don't worry you are all safe, I also fitted a loud beeper LED compatible flasher relay that can be heard over cabin turbulence and stereo). LED panel 4x6 for the interior cabin light. The smoked lens makes the stock light a bit dim and it stopped working recently.
Fixed a vacuum leak, adjusted the TPS and base idle (from 1200 down to 850), and she runs much better now.
Got a new oem 2 piece driveshaft, Nismo diff mount bushes, qfm hpx pads, front rotors & a general service done by Andrew @ ASR plus got 2x sumitomo 245/50/16s (for the rear 8.5" USDM wheels) replaced. Next on the list are some rear subframe collars, and get the front tyres changed over. The difference the above work has made to the feel of the car is like night and day, didn't realise how much driveline vibration there was until it was gone, feels like a new car, so smooth over bumps and during accel/deceleration.
My dash clock has not worked in around 2 years (that's never actually worried me, I prefer it that way). Today I accidently tried to start the car with the engine in first gear so that the car lurched forward for a fraction of a second. I immediately noticed that the clock was now working, which it still is. Go figure... (That's the 3rd thing on my car that's fixed itself without any intervention. The odometer also fixed itself after not working for about 6 months).
awesome when I wake up tomorrow I'm gonna start my car in first and hope it fixes my dull headlights, Speedo, clock, aircon, and fixed all my oil leaks hahaha Why didn't someone tell me this sooner :rolleyes2:
Sorry but I dont think you're likely to have my level of luck .. you need more faith than it sounds like you have, ha ha. Seriously though if things go wrong I fix them , in fact I have spent well over 40k in the last 3 years on maintanence, restoration and upgrades. I was just sharing my good luck not suggesting you should ignore issues.
hahaha i was just playing around, i fixed my lights last night. clock doesn't bother me and iv got a new cluster and engine going in once i sort out sourcing new turbos. i bought the car in a pretty fowl condition hoping to enjoy another painful restoration of a z32. i should post my progress in this thread more often.
Got my air con re gassed after having no air conditioning since I got the zed out of storage. I didn't drive it for 2 months during spring because of the heat and then only drove it after the sun went down all summer. Thank god its fixed finally!
Bought another AFM , a 2nd hand rhs headlight, a 2nd hand cruise control ecu. Got my remote control door issue sorted, need another actuator and a d/s key barrel.
Drove my M3 instead. lol Only joking. i did pick up some fuel while its cheap and gave it a run to keep it happy
replaced my mufflers My mufflers had holes in them so decided to replace them and the tips to something that fills out the veilside bumper a little more. BEFORE AFTER Still looks small in the bar though
