As you can see I've already filled the chip with color. Just have to build the clear layers up and buff back :(

So it can be fixed? If so at least that's good.

Yah It can be. But it will stand out if you're looking at it. :(

Disappointing. But shit happens I guess. Just one extra to the imperfection list.

On a good note. I'm half way through final sanding the front bar. Takes a while going in and around the fog light decorative bevel edges, etc. touch wood tonight ill have her bolted back together :)

You did a great job of those... looks brand spanking new!
Did you buy the decals to put back on or is that raised lettering?

So early last week in the evening. I got the spoiler ready. Test fitted for visuals.

I then had the windscreen guy come around to drop in a new one. Only to find some rust under the sealant. Obviously wasn't sealed properly when ever the last replacement went in. :( so he said he'd let me fix it.

All scraped and ground out. Lucky it was just minor/mid range scale. Few pits but nothing major. Cleaned, converted and resealed with some good quality paint we use on the John Deere tractors. Has a little rust inhibitor blended in the paint. Really good stuff.

Then. This weekend I've been hard at it. Been usually 2am finishes. Gotta have it together and running for next Saturday. So cut and polish the front guards, door jams, rear bar and front bar.

Some late night photography. Over tired and just because I can.

All barred up. Last nights efforts. Takes forever sanding around the trim design.

So tonight will be bolting it back together, hopefully. Few final things to cut and polish. Then yeah. Reassembly the interior and get the new windscreen put in. Clean the rims and tyres up. Reconnect the rear sway bar. Only realised this the other day. Must have left it disconnected when I installed the tein springs on the kybs. Could have been fun without that connected, lol.

Getting there, must power on with it though. Why must we go to work.... takes up too much rebuild time. lol.

Nah, you have to splice it into the main harness.

I'll have to start a build thread one of these days.

Sexy sexy man. We have this exact lip to go onto our zed. Only prob being its a tt bar lip. Not an na bar lip. So I'm going to glass a copy of my urethane one and make a graft of the mold so I can adapt it to the na bar.

They're just a sexy piece of body kit. Really like the look.

Started getting to the bottom of my busted motor. Looked into each cylinder with a bore scope and found #6 piston with a broken top ring land. Rebuild time!

Looking at it, it should be fairly straight forward. Bit of jigging, yes, but considering what I've accomplished to date. This should be a walk in the park haha. In answer to your q's. na version looks like poo. It's ever so slightly different front the pics I've seen. The tt version just looks right. Tough. Plus it came up at the right time. Lol. And I haven't swapped to a tt bar cause I took about 20 odd ours stripping and deleting the bead line across the top of the bar. So I wasn't about to just ditch it. Body kit was a definite after thought.

Thanks mate. Appreciate the kind words.

As an update, I took the day off work to resume assembly of the zed. To date, the drivers door assembly is complete. New rubbers, clips, some bolts. New window trim. Everything. Looks shit hot tbh. The guards were installed, gapped the best I could. Had to massage the underbody pinch strip to get the guards sitting right. Previous to us the strip was munted with a hoist or incorrect jacking. Front bar reassembled, fitted to nose of car, gapped with the guards, then the whole assembly shimmied to sit even against the headlights. Which were also semi stripping, cleaned and reinstalled.

So remaining is, passenger door assembly. That's tomorrow. Tail lights in, boot trim reinstalled. Rear sway bar bolted back to the link ends. Forgot to do this like 6 months ago. Wheel well covers. Then install the rear mud flaps and finally the side skirts. And all this before Saturday morning. :)

Creating your own lip and all the personal touches in your build will surely make your zed an awesome one of a kind.. and doing all this DIY in your own spare time just makes it even more special.

Top effort mate! looking forward to more of your pics and progress.:)
