Excuse the sh!tty phone pic, but not even close! I realise pearl is hard to match, hence why I gave them the f*cking nose panel so they had something to match to.

I'm sorry I don't understand your question

My Z is the original factory paint. It's a pearl white (QNO) and I realise it is very difficult to match. The items I received back tonight though aren't even close. Very disappointing, not to mention the idiocy of re-spraying my nose panel that was already in perfect condition (and colour).:(

Spoke to the shop responsible this morning. They said they would fix it up, but to give them the entire car. This makes me very nervous, as you are all aware last time I did this I got the car back covered in over-spray and the interior was trashed.

    jono,
that colour they used is not even a pearl.
and to "colour match" they would need to blend it properly,
id be very nervous giving them a car if they cant even match an oem colour.
given they were given a grill and a code to go by,
with pearls i never try "match panels" i do the whole thing avoids disappointment and looks way better.

car looks nice by the way :)

What happened with this Jono? Have they redone it?

I collected the car and parts yesterday. The match is heaps better now judging from the nose panel & they had a few goes at it until they were satisfied.

On the way home it started to p!ss down with rain so I stopped off at work as it is closer than home & that is currently where the car is. I'm waiting for dry weather so I can bring it home. Forecast is wet for the next few days so it won't be till next week sometime.

Here is a crappy pic from my phone of the car in the work garage.

Geez no, Jono's just doing the April 1st thing. You'll be right Jono, hang in there & it'll all be worth it. It's pretty well a one off car & like a virgin at a rodeo, she's just making you hold out before the big prize.

Definitely the right choice to make the lip the same colour as the bar. Looks awesome.

The ducts look off in colour though  yet they were painted at the same time? Is this due to the different material?

Need more light to see guard to bar blending.

The colour match is 100x better than first attempt, but still not perfect. But for it to be perfect it would require a full respray and that is planned for later down the track.

The ducts could be slightly different, as when I went to collect the parts the ducts didn't have good coverage. So the owner said to leave them and they would do them again. They do look the same to the eye though.

I will get some outside pics when the weather is better. It's forecast to be a very wet weekend. All in all I am happy and content with the job. I'm just happy to have it back and in one piece.

Crappy phone pics again, still don't have my PC connected to the internet!

Couldn't bare have the Z dirty any longer, so gave it a quick wash when there was a break in the rain. The front end it a fair bit lower now, I hope I can get in/out of my driveway!

I also fitted a new set of inner guard liners a few weeks ago. The original ones on the car had holes in them from the tyres rubbing.

Where did you get the inner liners from Jono? Did you only replace the fronts or all round? Something I have been meaning to get.

So I finally have a little update... with pics!

Too tired to dribble about all the little things I've done, so I'll let the pics do most of the talking.

Managed to squeeze a super quick drive in while my daughter had her afternoon nap today. Was too lazy to reposition the car for different angles. I hope to go out for some dusk/night shoots in the near future.
