Sadly Neale had a small crash at Bathurst this year

By all accounts he was OK, Porsche not so much...

 

I know Neale also, we went to school together. He got a fractured rib. I have been in his v8 radical at Sydney Motorsport Park for 5 violent laps, the G forces were awesome.

 

I was down there in my zed, just a few weekends before, lol couldn't afford to come down for the super bikes and this as well, looks like a great event, looks like a lot of fun, maybe next time.

 

Yeah I don't know him personally per se, I just race with him. I'm one of the annoying backmarkers that keep getting in his way hehe

Lets just say we had a few words after the session ..... as well as my talking to the scrutineers about the fact that the graphics over the rear windscreen prevent anyone seeing into the car which I see as a safety issue.

His view is that his car is a lot cheaper than mine and therefoer he is relying on me giving him a wide berth. Nonce ..

Session 3 in car

Great weekend, was good to get back out on the PI track after a long time away. Had fun out on the track but really needed more time and laps as Im sure the Zed could go a few seconds quicker than I managed to do. The guy who hit the wall probably lost us one session but good to see he is ok which is the most important thing. Sandeep, your car is a weapon, great lap time on road tyres, very nicely driven. Alex and Wykked, bad luck would have been good to have a few more Z32s out there, I had the frustration at the last Nats at PI with a small problem stopping me from running for the day. Alex, Sandeep and any one else, Im definately keen to go back and have another go soon, let me know when you guys go next.

Last lap was my fastest lap of the day a 1.58 but had a datto lose it and spin in front of me.

Hey Wayne, taken with a HTC one X. Just put the spoiler on 3 weeks ago, felt like a change. Wasn't the same without the Sydney mafia, you, wiz, Andymac and wokky.

 

No problem jt ill let you know as soon ss I know something. The bottom end has gone in for a reco im in no rush atm for the engine so I tokd him to take his time with it. Bit as soon as im ready ill let you know.

Yep, didn't see you, not using his mirrors, grrr...

Bit of a tip though, always try to pass slower cars on the inside exiting a corner, not the outside. If they're on their limit, they may not be able to adjust to allow room for you at the exit. I've seen many accidents and near misses in prod sports due to this.

Yep, complete muppet, no idea where he was on the track. Can't even use the excuse that he was maintaining his racing line, as he was already way past the exit point of the corner when he moved over [TIS]

 

Exactly Shane and you can see why I had such a challenge getting past these guys. I had the same problem overtaking on the left.

Only problem with this guy is he could just as easily drifted left or right. He clearly wasn't on the racing line, he just wasn't paying attention period.

My comment above is more in a race or sprint scenario where the slower car is on the racing line and pushing hard. Passing on the outside exiting a corner in this scenario will always result in a closing door.

Yep see what hapenned to a frriend on the same ocrner overtaking on the left, which I agree is the safer side, but..
