We bought PNK300's kit from carmate and it came well packaged and undamaged.

And it ALL fit perfect

are you sure it was carmate! :p

edit : Perfect fit to some people means big dirty gaps, and to others it means PERFECT. Im a spray painter so when I SAY perfect i actually mean PERFECT not 2mm out, not 1.5mm out, dont want to add glass, or remove glass, etc.

    Perfect.

Ztoy did the fitting. He said he could sit the side skirts on the sil for test fitting without tape or anything. They just 'clipped' on.

Panel gaps on kaminari rear are spot on. Nose panel just worked. The only bad thing to say about the whole deal was that some newb meshed the exhaust holes lol

Also, we paid one night, and somehow had the whole lot delivered in 24hrs. Yes we actually received the gear before the payment had cleared lol

i still stand by my original post, a forum is for people who want knowledge of every situation they might encounter when it comes to our cars. I am simply a member giving out knowledge for the rest of the people on this forum.

The forum is a place to excange ideas, information and experiences. UAS (and any other business for that matter) would not post that these matters of experience be kept off the forum if the original post had gone in their favour. I personally don't mind paying a little extra for a good quality, undamaged product and even with out sourced products, the mark up in price should, I imagine, include a level of quality control. Any business that aims to gain or keep a reputation of supplying quality products should be checking the products they on sell. After all, if the end customer didn't care about any old poop they are delivered then they would not go to somewhere that has a product for a higher price and a supposed rep for top notch gear. They would go for the low cost alternative and just cop any old crap shipped their way. To the OP, I hope this is sorted quickly and hassle free. It is a shame that we are prepaired to pay for good quality products and then do not receive what we pay for, no matter who the seller is.

    News flash!!!

Dealer sells items that they did not personally manufacture!:eek::eek:

I have recently discovered that my local Tyre Dealer has been flogging me tyres that are manufactured by another company.
How long has this been happening and when will something be done about it?
For advice on how to deal with this shameful act please contact the Minister for Small-minded Comments.:rolleyes:

P.S. I suspect that if we did away with the Complimentary Drinks we would not be subjected to this puerile attempt to grab a seat on the Band Wagon.

    Benny_C About as subtle as...

    Only difference is:

Your Tyre shop will willingly advertise the tyre brand/manufacturer before selling. (in fact usually always using that reputable brand to make the sale)

UAS certainly don't advertise it's body kit parts are knock-off's which are manufactured by "Carmate" at an inflated price on their rebsite. (that i can see anyway)

I might add that i've received body kit parts directly from Carmate in the past, and that photo in the OP looks exactly like the original packaging direct from Carmate. Doesn't look like it's been opened, quality checked, repackaged and sent to the end customer.

If people that came to my restaurant ordered and paid for 350g eye fillet steak, and got a t-bone instead, I would be out of business.

If I ordered a shot of Royal Salute and received a glass of Johnny Red, i'd be pissed off and send it back.

If you went to a dealer and bought an M3, but got delivered a broken 3 series with no options...

    You get the idea.

All those who are making excuses and having a bitch about everyone... having a bitch... seriously, look at it from a consumer perspective, not a "oh-i-hope-john-sees-mynice-post-and-gives-me-a-discount-next-time" perspective.

In a good business, you get what you pay for.
You get what you pay for.

    YOU
    PROVIDE
    WHAT
    YOU
    GOT
    PAID
    FOR

    It works both ways.

Don't talk shit. Don't try and rip people off. Its 2011 for God's sake, people are NOT stupid.

I had a bar with a crack that broke it in almost half. Guess how much it cost to fix? Probably a poofteenth of a cent. Honestly the bar looked like a total write off. I couldn't imagine it ever being the same again. BUT for the same price as the bar cost to fit/paint the first time. Is how much it cost me to repair, repaint (the whole bar) and refit to as good as new. It makes bugger all difference to the body shop fitter/painter how the bar looks like when they get it. Scratches? Cracks? Hell even in my case SNAPPED and by the time they are done with it, you would never know it.

Aftermarket body parts that still require prep and painting are always shipped like this from my understanding. Okay, so its not 'pretty' looking. Look at any shop posting off these parts. It's all the same!!

Sure we would all like them packed in crates or boxes, foam, sheets of bubble wrap etc and I'm sure if it was requested from the start it could be done no worries. But most people might balk at higher postage costs. And I think people forget postage costs are not just the material its wrapped in. When we spend 20 mins packing something to look nice and secure, we dont think about how much we are worth per 20 mins to charge the person on the other end. A busy business who pays people by the hour devoting a staff member to the job does. And its perfectly reasonable for a business to charge for time it takes to pack and send things.

This forum should not have been the first point of call to complain to. If you had a problem, you should speak to the business manager first for a resolution.

I think what it all comes down to is that the buyer did not get what he expected. He handed over his hard earned dollars for a product that was to be sold by UAS, and one would assume, up to UAS standards. John has already explained that in this instance, the product was shipped directly from carmate, so in fact all UAS did was take money from the customer, take their cut, and forward the order on to Carmate, assumedly at wholesale prices due to their ordering power. If UAS had advertised that their product was made by carmate, then there is no way that the buyer would have purchased it. I am sure even Chili would be a bit annoyed to have paid for a UAS bar, only to receive a carmate bar.

Noone is going to suggest that John shouldn't be allowed to do this, afterall he is trying to run a business. Businesses should be allowed to make money however they like, and I am sure this sort of thing is a very common practice for any profitable business.

The issue is that this forum is thought of by most members as a community, or for some even as a large extended family, and most of us would like to trust other members, and help each other out where we can. It becomes messy when a business is also part of this community, and expects to be a part of the 'family' that is aus300zx.com, whilst profiting from its members.

An even simpler "what it all comes down to":

You call a gourmet pizzeria and order their special pizza which you've heard is quality, you charge it to your credit card at their premium price. Half an hour later the doorbell rings and there stands a pimply-faced grommet with a Domino's box and inside is a Domino's pizza.

Where did it all go wrong?

    How would you feel?

    More info

Some good points made and some wild ones from the usual piss pot. For everyones info, this product in question is described as BX Style. Not Bomex and NOT UAS. Items that we own the mould for ONLY are described and labelled accordingly as UAS.

To clarify an earler post, I was replying to Pepper, referring to the modified Greddy front bar. UAS front bar.
    Greddy Bar
"BASED AROUND A REVAMPED JAPANESE BAR. WE HAVE CUT AND SHUT THE BAR TO RAISE IT AROUND 20MM AND REDUCED OVERHANG BY AROUND 40MM TO MAKE THE BAR MORE PRACTICAL FOR EVERYDAY ROAD DRIVING.
COMES WITH MESH AND THE OPTION OF SIDE SPEED HOLES.
QUALITY UAS DESIGN - MADE FROM HIGH QUALITY MATERIALS"
