Got a bit excited with the heat wrap... after wrapping you've got to paint it to "seal" it to the pipe. I used the header paint you can get from Repco wideband and narrowband O2's visible in the above pics on the dumps
Gearbox - Oil Change What a pain it was to get the fill and drain plugs out! Seems like someone loctited them in with an impact wrench! Here's a guide: You can buy this from Coventry's for about $30 Here's the part number You get two of these - 1 metric and 1 imperial chop an end off (the opposite end of what you want to use) grind it back ever so slightly with a flap disc on your grinder then it becomes perfect 1/2" size for your socket set make sure it gets in there nice and good and now you can use that tool with a breaker bar to get some mighty leverage going unfortunately that tool didn't help me much with the fill plug, I resorted to hydraulic assistance on a heavy duty ratchet I hope that helps someone!
I love the heat wrapping, very good job. The only thing I considered against heat wrapping of the dumps, and for hpc coating, was the event of an oil leak from the cam covers. Heat retention in the dumps will help out a few things. Looks good.
nice work mate. very imrpessive... have u checked the clearance on the drivers dump... mine needed some persuasion for a perfect fit
