We (NDSOC) did our GOR run weekend last weekend, plenty of boys in blue around. From Anglesea to Lorne I was in a MotoCop sandwich, 1 bike 2 cars ahead, 1 bike 3 cars back ... had to be good! 80kmh limit all the way now.



Mind you, you would think they would be enforcing speed limits rather than enforcing speed! "Sorry Your Honour, but my interpretation of the sign was that I had to speed - I thought the 80 was a minimum!" Best of luck with that one, but it's a literal interpretation .

 

Pushing to get my oil pump replaced before then at the very least so I can join you all. Failing that, I might bring the Prelude and just drag up the rear. So depressing looking at my poor car sitting there busted

For first timers, it's not just about fanging the sea front section of the cruise, i.e. the actual Great Ocean Road.

Sure, fanging that road is fun, but another huge thrill is seeing the looks on people's faces as we convoy through each town and hamlet.

Try to imagine what they are seeing - up to 40 examples of a classic and beautiful car in every possible colour and
configuration, cruising slowly by, driven by a bunch of people ranging in age from spotty teenagers to grizzled silverbacks, all of
us beaming with pride. Priceless.

( sorry for waxing lyrical, I was inspired by waynoz's poignant little story about abandonment and soft serves )


Anyway, Kingy always serves up some inland twisties, away from general notice so to speak

I'm with you.... When I go for a drive by myself I enjoy driving slow, your driving one of the best roads... Why drive fast? Enjoy it! Your not in a rush to work

I agree to an extent...But too slow is boring. You're in a sports car, you want to be able to accelerate out of the turns and rev second and third out a little.
Going slow and sitting in the higher gears doesn't do the road or the car justice.

Slow through the towns though. Police are stricter in the towns, it's more dangerous and there's no reason to go fast. Let the people stare
