VIC Gor -> 2012 (25th November 2012)

No harm done, it's all a learning curve for newer members. You've got to remember that some of us on here have been friends for over 10 years and the way we run cruises has evolved to a pretty high level over that time. Have a look back through some old post event discussion threads on previous cruises to get an idea. And the GOR is a great chance to catch up with old mates.

Is the GOR cruise open to any old muppet in a car? No. The GOR cruise is open to current or former aus300zx members (minus a few exceptions eg Brytec). We have only a few simple rules (which I'm sure Kingy will provide detail on at some point), the main ones being:
- It doesn't really matter what car you drive, all that we ask is that the non-zeds drive out of the convoy line ie either the front or at the back (preferable) so that we can try and get all zeds in one long line.
- It is not a race. But there will be times where a bit of spirited driving is possible, and other times it is just a gentle cruise.
- Don't drive dumb. There will be police and they will be watching us. Deal with it. Drive to your surroundings and your abilities.
- We ask that you keep the car behind you in your mirrors at all times. If they slow down you slow down. This stops people from getting lost like a few years ago, and also if someone has a breakdown or accident we are all together.

Remember that the GOR is a 50% driving and 50% social event as it is the only full day cruise on the VIC calendar. You have more time to get to know one another. It's a long day but an enjoyable one, and like everything you get out of it what you put in.

Remember!! - Shell is now United!!

Remember folks, the tried and tested meetup point of Todd Rd which is used by us and many other car clubs is no longer a Shell service station. Its now a United service station. Which means the high octane premium fuel, which many of us enjoy, contains 10% ethanol. Since I think we agree that 10% ethanol is not ideal for our cars, I suggest filling up the tank before you get to the meetup point or at least have enough fuel to get you to the BP service station at Avalon which is the 2nd meetup point.

yeah i'll drive at the back, ive never been to the GOR and have been wanting to go on it for a while, never got to do it with the Z for whatever reasons checked my roster im free on the 25th why the hell not!
