yep, especially when it is a Carmate bumper and all that R and D we hear about has gone into it ... lol....

nothing bitter here, Josh ... the whole thing is hilarious and now a regular event to keep the Forum well entertained .. reminds me of that great Three Stooges skit ... "who's on first .. ???" (or third ..???)

Car forum - I don't see what a bit of banter about car products is upsetting you? Opinions are that, feedback is just that also. Let it all hang out.

Barry bitter? Nah, just doesn't do the crap or pull his punches.

I cant work out if you are easily entertained or just senile so the same event can keep you entertained for weeks on end...

lol, mate ..don't worry about Josh ... he just has a limited vocabulary and has to keep rolling out the same 'ol tired cliches ... was the same 6 years ago under another name ... lol... ( and that name was NOT "the king of fibreglass' .... eekkk, now there's a story ..!!)

but it probably does explain his affinity with ill-fitting Carmate gear ... big LOL.. !!!

UAS are showing signs of business stress, taking shots at other suppliers on this forum, substituting substandard parts for there own, if you look at the issues its all about money or the lack there off.

Economic times are hard and a business with large overheads will do what it has to do to survive, buyer beware.

I almost had my engine rebuilt by a business on the way out, so glad that didn't happen, I want my builder thinking about the quality of the job not what corners he can cut to make money.

let's agree to give it a rest and not stuff up this thread, Josh ...

clearly, the fibreglass inhalation, the spray painting inhalation and way too many Tazer shots to the head by that "bird in blue" have left the grey matter significantly disturbed .. lol.

I too am an armchair business analyst. The 300zx market is contracting, and if I were to open a auto accessory business, I sure as hell would not service the 300zx community- Too cheap, too difficult, too many options already out there. There is bigger money to be made on the newer models if you have to choose where to spend R&D dollars; keeping in mind that there is a bigger return on mods for the late model cars than there is for the 20+ year old ones (for which there is a finite lifespan).
However if you want cheap, fast (and unscrupulous) money, many businesses will just copy existing designs - think of all the ebay copies of midori camber arms, blitz BOV's etc etc etc... That being said, If I were in UAS' shoes, and it was believed that MY R&D had been compromized by a competitor, there are proper legal channels to be followed to seek compensation.

Thank you for that clarification, John ... it explains for many just why the Carmate bars are so crap and ill-fitting piles of pooh ...

.. they are, then, a copy of a modded replica of an imitation of a duplication of a facsimile of a ..... no chance of a neat fit there .. !!!

and all so unnecessary when, in the first place they could have borrowed Josh's 3D scanner ... perfect copy, perfect model, perfect fit ... !!!

That's interesting Mitch, the 300ZX market is small but has proven over and over again it will spend top dollar and plenty of them for good products.

The thing is the mould is made and R&D spent, why substitute substandard parts ?

We are not cheap and we are not difficult, if we like to shoo of vultures from the dying carcase of the 300ZX market as you would have us believe it is, I would see that as smart and self preservationist, allowing a better opportunity for those that wish to provide better products and services.

The thing that ALWAYS gets me around this subject is the attitude that the market should be grateful, grateful for what "lube" ?

If there is more money or easier markets else where, good on ya, on ya bike and **** off !

    That's my analysis ! :)

I suspect that imposing a zero alcohol level on ALL intending participants in this debate would result in a far less libellous round of slanderous bull dust being shovelled from somewhere up the hill..

Question...To me it looks like these parts came straight from carmate and not UAS ( they looked untouched, and un-checked as john said they check them )

Just wondering when someone buys a carmate bumper from UAS does UAS just go strait to the carmate website and place an order for the buyer ? or do they buy carmate bumpers in bulk and keep them in stock for when an order comes?

LOL ... here we go ... two words of 3 syllables in one sentence (libellous/slanderous) plus "bull dust being shovelled from up the hill" .... sounds more like trivia from tippler's retreat down at Cow Dung Flats to me .... lol.

but to the thread: just chatting with a fine upstanding member of the Forum who posited a rather interesting scenario .... you are told of a fine dining restaurant, reputedly into creative meals along with a tad of experimentation ... you wish to treat your spouse/partner to a fine dining experience so make a booking and off your go for dinner, prepared to pay above the norm for a place with a name and the real thing ... the place looks good and is doing a good trade ... the menu has a fine range of offerings going by description and you happily place your orders .. you select that fine sounding chicken parma and then sit back having selected a fine bottle of 1991 ZED Sauv Blanc ...

your meal arrives .... EEEEKKKKK .. what the hell is this ????!!!! .. oops, sorry says the Maitre d' .... we had no chicken so I whipped around the corner and grabbed a KFC Chicken Wrap for you ... better that than nothing, eh and given our great surroundings you will appreciate that we will have to charge you the Chicken Parma price as per menu ... ???? !!!! ... enjoy your meal .. !!!

how would you feel ... ??? ... enough to make you weep, isn't it .... !!!!!
