Would be interesting to see what she is capable of. 5 is still not bad, but with the sort of power you've got there, the car could probably do better. I'm not much chop at the launch either. These higher powered turbo cars are hard to get off the line without lag or wheel spin getting in the way. It bloody hard to find that middle point .
You old Sweet talker you.:zlove::zlove::zlove: I reckon get a master like Wizard behind the wheel and he'd be able to pull some "magic" with those times. lol.[/QUOTE]
Cool, thanks for the info re: Hypergear turbos Benny. Is Hypergear based in Victoria, if my memory serves me correct? Looking forward to seeing what your new dumps do for your setup!
Does it seem right that i can get 0-100 in 6 seconds with a virtually stock set up other than exhaust and a heavy right foot.. TT, stock boost, Auto?? bloody good road surface i must add too!
So with all the more power you have produced, your only getting to 100 1 sec faster, i mean i know that 1 more second is faster, but i honestly thought it would be more. but i guess after 100-200 times would be stupidly faster than the stock set up i bet
Sounds like i need to get you to drive my Zed for me to get some better 0-100kph times. :br: like i said, i've only tried a couple of times half heartedly. I'm too much of a baby when it comes to clutch and tyre wear. :sorry:
haha, dont blame you man, when you have sunk soo much money into something you dont wanna hear an axle, clutch ect go bang!! im driving a A/T by the way, so im kinda cheating
Hi Benny, could you please provide me some wisdom my zed is showing these signs so very interested in applying your method - thanks 1. Does the catch can give off residue if any? 2. Where did you get the rubber caps to close off the pcv - just a parts store? 3. Does your catch can have one of those little air filters on the outlet vent?
Are you running high boost? (like up around 20psi?) If you're running lower boost, but still showing these signs you're probably running lower compression to allow this blow-by. Anyway: 1: No. Maybe a little bit of oily vapor out the breather hole, but nothing that makes a mess or splatter or whatever. And i only need to drain it maybe once a year or so going by the small amount of oil that gets collected in there. 2: Supacrap auto. 3: My one doesn't, but you can get one that does if you like, it will make no difference.
Hi mate, thanks for the info . High setting on my ebc is 17-18 psi. Just had it set and remapped on sunday. I have the exhaust which does the smoke trick every so often. At first I thought I just needed a cross pipe in the exhaust but after reading a few posts about the pcv thought I would give it a try I will do the cross pipe later this week too ( cat back 2.5"to cannons) thanks Benny
Hey Nigel, Yep, all up and running again now! Just finished bedding in the new engine and have done my oil/filter change. Just sorting out a very minor teathing issue when i get some spare time, and then it'll be back on the dyno for a final tune and a power run. Will post up a new thread when all done with full details, specs, figures and stacks of photos. So stay tuned.
Benny what can you tell me about those dumps of yours? Interested for the price, but I've heard a lot of bad things...
I am currently running 3" AMS ToyZ dumps. (some pretty awesome shit) When i had the dyno done in this original thread post, i had NPower Split dumps, which still managed to make good power. Since i have switched dumps, i might have noticed a bit of a difference in mid-range power area (just going by the seat of the pants gauge).
