it doesn't in my particular setup Nigel. I've got the drain/return bung connected to a short hose that is blocked off and tucked away, and i can access that easily from underneith the front bar through the splash guard to drain the catch can from there. Easy.
...this may only have to be done maybe once every one or two years in my case as it's not track driven and i don't fang it everywhere. lol.

    Nice
Some guys are poppin 900 at the rear on youtube -look for the plain white one on dyno
the brit drift car i think is somewhere around 700
All good after 300 given weight, - how fast do you want to go in a school zone, after that get a jet!

Don't believe everything you see on youtube mate. Those US dyno's will give you much better numbers than the ones here. 900rwkw you are starting to talk Bugatti Veron numbers..........I don't think so, not from a 3L nissan motor

900RWKW is WAAAAAAAAY more than a Veyron.
The Veyron engine has 1000BHP. We're talkin' flywheel killer wasps, if I am correctly informed. Considering the behemoth twin clutch gearbox, one would assume a rather hefty drivetrain loss there.
900RWKW from a Veyron (Not the world record edition) would imply that the car gains ~140kw of power through the drivetrain :p hehehe
    Sorry, it's late and I'm bored :D

Besides, FORCFED hit 1023.8HP with a 3L Nissan motor. Don't believe every naysayer you hear on forums ;)

Heya Nigel, mate my plan was to have them fitted by now, but other things have popped up that have pushed the fitting of the dumps a little, like my broken rear toe arm, and a new set of tyres all round.
So i'm hoping within the next 2-3 weeks the exhaust will be all finished off properly. Then it'll be ready for another tune and dyno run. *looks at Karl* ;)

Just waiting for you bro. Your Z won't be the only one on the dyno that day ;)

    AndyMac Better than you

All true, 1000hp is achievable, but driveability? none. Definately not street car power curve thats for sure.

Psh, I don't see any issue with driving a car that goes from 200hp to 700hp in a 800RPM range ;)

Hey Benny, have a question about these turbos you have. Your running 20psi, is that the max boost they recommend on them? or can they be boosted higher without running out of their efficiency range? Thanks

  14. Benny_C

    Benny_C About as subtle as...

I wouldn't push them higher Nigel, mainly due to the fact that still running on stock sized housings, running more pressure through them will start making them too hot and in turn - yes they would no doubt be running outside of their efficiency range. (i'm sure you could push them further, but i'm going to)

...but in saying that, i'm more than happy with 20psi boost. Still perfectly streetable and predictable. And the 320kw certainly gets it to the 100kph speed limit quick enough for this black duck.

Great thanks! I'd be happy with anything close to 300RWKW's! 320RWKW's is more than enough Benny! Thats great power you have! I was thinking of pushing 17psi when I get them sometime in the future. I don't think my old motor will happily take too much more boost than 17psi & also the boost controller I got is only capable of boosting to 17psi.

Ok mate. yeah, definately get a boost controller that can handle bigger boost then for down the track, a good one will have spike control and the like too. I'm running a GReddy Profec B in mine. It's a bit tricky to get the head around setting it up, but you get there in the end, and it's actually quite a powerful controller once you're used to it. (oh, and it is a perfect fit for in the OEM clock hole location and looks sexy and OEM if done right ;))

...Nigel, have you got your turbos yet? If not, are you getting (or thinking about getting) the Hypergear ones too?

On that note Benny, again idea what your car will do 0-100km/h in?? Would be a fun test to run if not, as this is one of the main ways modern cars are compared for performance.

Nah don't have them yet Benny, looking very closely at the Hypergear turbos like yours! Prefer to upgrade when the stock turbos spit a seal. Already have the boost controller just not fitted yet. Doing some lead up mods prior to the turbos like the Selin dual intake kit & respray. You should gain something if you fitted the Selin dual intake kit to your beast right Benny?

Well, i've only had a bit of a play around using my trusty ECUTalk in the car a few times, and have gotten a flat 5 second 0-100kph time. I don't personally think it's that impressive mainly due to my launching skills (usually either just wheel spin, or revs bog down) as i don't do any drag or track work practice, this is just out on the road i take to work. lol.

I reckon get a master like Wizard behind the wheel and he'd be able to pull some "magic" with those times. lol.

Regarding Selin dual POP interpreter, i wouldn't bother with it mate. Not for the power we're talking about. Just keep stock single MAF and a good quality POD Filter. the Selin interpreter is only useful for power flow that draws more than the max 5.0v air flow the stock ECU allows. Which is around the 500rwHP mark. It's an expensive unit, and an expense you shouldn't need to outlay for your desired power goal.

If you are getting the Hypergears, i would recommend that you specifically request getting the GT28RS cores installed in a flowed stock OEM Garrett housing like i did. It's been just fine for me - however I have heard of some issues from other people on here using the non-Garrett housings that they offer.
