You can see Mr Smiley's Tonsils!!!

Top Notch mate, seriously considering one now. Can you post a pic of how much you've had to hack off your reo bar?

looks great. As long as the price is not at obviously extortion levels for a fibreglass bar it'll be popular.

Im liking it. Quiet alot actually.

Interested in the reo bar surgery pics too.

    Fantastic work so far.

Will you be painting this one straight away as soon as you're done with it, or make a master copy of it for reproduction purposes, then painting this one? Be keen to see it colour coded.

    Just looking at it again...

How high off the ground is the center section of the lip? (taking into consideration you will have different shocks and jazz then myself and others)

Also, kaminari side skirts? I plan on getting them too when the respray happens.

Just trying to visualize it all together.

    Cheers.

That would be because of the 4x4 suspension zToy's got going there :D. As long as the pinstripe continues around the whole car at the same level, then it'll look fkn great lowered.

LOL. Yeah she does sit high now. The new suspension that was supposed to be 20mm lower than stock, wasn't. The ride is fantastic though:)

The lower lip is just a fraction lower than a stock 2k bar due to the lip. As was discussed earlier in the tread, people were not interested in lowering the bar as it would affect ground clearance so it was left alone.

This one will not be getting fitted to a car. It is full of bog and MDF and has twice the fiberglass that is needed in it. It will be the plug for the mould and then will go into storage.

The only time I will be painting one will be when I fit #1 to my car.:)

Ah awesome. I knew there wasnt any cut and shut lowering done, as was mentioned earlier, it's just it looks high off the ground in that pic i posted.

Also a play on the eyes id say, with the colouring.

Either way, still keen, and awaiting the final product.

    Great work!!!

nice work but that exposed air filter is a huge risk.. think water funnel not 2 mention it will mess with your afm big time... that is unless your running a map sensor.. aka microtech

Good point. However FMIC's mount in front of the air filter, don't they? If that is so, then it shouldn't be an issue. Us SMIC users are stuffed then, Just gonna have to put a number plate in front of it.:p

    Reo bar mods

Here is a pic of my reo bar.

You will not have to cut yours as much as I have.

Mine is heavily hacked for a bomex bar that I got off Ebay. It was a horrible fit and I had to remove all the plastic around the foglights. (never buying a front bar of ebay again)

The only cut will be where the green line is. This is to make room for the larger FMIC duct.

Hrm, this does create a problem...

Any real way to protect the pod from water would negate any reason for having such an enlarged opening.

Albeit my needs are for only an NA. Where no coolers will be placed.

What are peoples ideas to over come this issue...

Also, whats the likely hood off gulping a large quantity of water to start with, providing your bottom plastic shield is in place?

I like this one for the simple fact its a cheaper option to the genuine article. At which i want.

Although is it a problem that didnt already exist. Looking at the front on pic even if the opening wasn't 2 cm higher, the air filter would have still been exposed.

Depends on wheather or not you drive through flood water:p

In my instance I will be mounting the number plate in front of it to lessen fluctuations in the AFM signal.

I've got the oem 2k bar & when I removed my airbox to fit a pod there was a handy little bit of plastic underneth the airbox. Its a standard splash guard which oddly does a great job of stopping water splashing on the pod :D
Pretty sure this is a standard part too not something specific to the 2k bar, a lot of people seem to remove it but mine fitted fine with with the pod, just pushes it down a little.

Otherwise a lot of guys in the states zip-tie a plastic flower pot over their filter.

My 89 had that plastic splash shield too so it's nothing special.
Actually i'm not using it if anyone wants it for the cost of postage.
