what is the height difference between a standard 89 - 9x front bar and a standard 2k front bar.
If a standard 2k is 20mm lower than a standard 9x and we lower another 20 ill be on the drive too.

I don't mind cutting the reo bar if the structural integrity is maintained. I also prefer the look of the stock height bar with opened up vents (photo 3).

yeah true, bahh! i'll just not enter driveways haha, shes a weekender anyways.

but i get what you mean. the stock 2k urathane gives me room to not smash it up, but yours has all i need, and i have mates in the car building scene with all the skills in fiberglassing, so it should be ok if i hit it.

ive been waiting god knows how long for what your doing ztoy, its of such a benifit to the zed community ! and regardless i'll be buying mine from you.
and i dont mind the 20mm lower to save the reo, wasnt happy cutting it anyways. cant wait, this is the next thing, as soon as they are available that i'll buy haha.

but i reckon its gunna cost an arm and a leg to get here haha/

I say just keep it 100% stock, that's all I'm after and I want the 2k spec lights. :p

Good question. We shouldn't assume the 2k bar has the same ground clearance as the earlier bars. Anyone know the answer?

I also agree that lowering this bar will make it unsuitable for most people. I have already given the bottom lip an 1cm over hang which will definately bang into things if we go lower. Having this over hang will give the appearance of being lower anyway.

As I said before cutting the reo bar is not a big deal and I cant speak for all aftermarket bars but when I fitted my Greddy I had to cut it a bit to make it fit and when I fitted my Bomex I had to cut it even more.

If we are all ok to take 2 cm out of the bottom of the reo bar Ill get to work opening up the ducts tomorrow.

Todays Update. Indicators are as good as done and the subtle extention to the lip was bogged in. You can see in the first pic a line on above the main duct. That is where Im planning on opening it up to.

As I said the lip is subtle but the shot from underneath shows how much I have added. I'm still undecided as to whether to round the lip like the original or to leave it square as it is. You can also see a line in this pic of where i plan to open the SMIC duct up to.

Since your opening up the intercooler ducts does that mean 2k spec actual ducting wont fit anymore?

I like where this is going. Originally I was quite against modding the front bar, but it's starting to come up quite nicely. I won't really make a decision till its finished (and i'd still prefer it in urethane), but it certainly looks promising and a lot better than the photoshopped versions before.

Very droll Patrick(is it cloudy tonight, or is your telescope busted)?:p

Why would I be likely to have any copyright problems with someone copying a Nissan Motor Co. product, pray tell?:confused::zlove:

    BTW, it's "we're"!!!

Bloody nice work(like the fact that you have stuck with early series lights).

Just a few more progress pictures for you. All ducts have been opened up 2cm as was discussed. Second photo is a side by side comparison to a greddy bar. Ducts are almost the same size.

looks sweet mate, looks pretty similiarr to the greddy bar now. just needs those lines on the sides taken out and that would be complete lol.

i think this will become the most popular fibreglass front bar, hope u have time to keep up with the sales lol best of both worlds, half 2k spec half greddy spec ;)

p.s im not purchasing one as i have a greddy bar but im just appreciating ur work :cool:
