guys does anyone no about the power windows.. wen i bought the car the power window motor in driver side door had crapped itself which i replaced and then worked fine.. but before it completely died it wasnt working well and u cud hear a noise like the cogs were missing each other and u sorta had to pull it up at the same time as u pressed the button. however now my passenger side door window has stopped.. there was never any noise it just happened all of a sudden.. so do we think that there is something rong with the little black box (regulator i think?) or wiring or wud it be the power window motor again? another note.. the switch for it on the driver side didnt work either.. but wen i was changing the speakers over i unscrewed a screw that went right threw the bunch of wires and it started working all of a sudden.. so posibly just some wires need replacing? all help is appriciated thanks guys n girls!! simon g
slow down man. do one thing at a time. first things first is to isolate the motors out (i.e make sure the motors are fine) is disconnect them and run power straight from the battery to them and see if they go up and down. once you have established the motors aree fine then its pretty much the control box on the drivers side really... if the motors are fine then you'll need to change the drivers side control....
not forgetting the simple "passenger isolation button" in the drivers side control. Not trying to insult, but sometimes the blatantly obvious is overlooked..... happened once or 50 times before
okay so after spending about 2 hrs this morning replacing the whole wire pack for the windows.. i nominated myself for dick of the year :| OZX_320... u deserve a medal or a beer haha -__-
bahhaha. most have hit it and not known. my mate did it when he repaired it, i couldnt find the problem for 3 weeks.
Tim and Ellie (Zena) have an interesting tale on this very subject. "It happened at Cowra..." is how it starts.
I understand your familiarity with 4 Stroke engines, it's the other bit that has me baffled.:rofl:
Power windows AAARRRGGGHHH, All work on power windows should be carried out in the rain, in the open approximately 400k's from home. Then after pulling BOTH doors apart you swap components with Doug and later realise the BLOODY CHILD SAFETY BUTTON was activated. We did however find an intermittent faulty in the driver?s side switch and so did not feel like complete idiots!!! Only advice that 'almost idiots' can give is take it slow check one thing at a time and get the car under cover! Cheers Tim & Ellie
