    I have slim timing gear covers for sale.
    These can replace the plastic covers over the timing belt and gear to expose them.

    They are $110 posted.
    They are made of fibre glass and finished in gel coat.

    Curious to know why bother having these covers at all with so much exposed? These wouldn't protect from stones etc getting caught in the belt/gears at all?

    You should make some full covers in clear Dave - would be much better IMO :)

    or having that with some cheap replaceable perspex front that bolts on and off (ie buy your own from bunnings and cut it to shape and drill the bolt holes)

    for the risk averse, drive with the perspex all the time

    for the rest, leave the perspex off until you have to go over the pits

    Yes I agree it will not protect them from objects.
    So it is really for keeping fingers out.
    As some people chose not to use any at all these would be better
    for people that wont to have exposed gears.

    Good point though about attaching some clear plastic to the front of it.

    As for making clear stock covers it would have to be made from plastic and set set up a injection mould would cost in the thousands witch I just don't have.
    The only way I could make them would not be clear they would be semi clear.

    go the bolt on perspex
    u can do it with minor modifications to the existing setup - you just need bolt holes on a flange type face

    there is another way to get the clear covers made up that wont even come close to the price of injection moulding.

    the people that make the solid plastic playground kits you see in public parks use a CnC router to cut the shapes out of a solid sheet of whatever material desired.

    i know there is one guy local who does this, he uses a computer to make the shape and the router does the rest.

    i'm not in a position to go and enquire about having these covers made up mostly because i dont own a z32 anymore and the fact the owners sister nearly put me in gaol.

    :rofl::rofl:
    let me know if you want some more info, i know there are a few illawarra members here who would be able to sort it out.

    lol... its a very long story but to cut it short:

    girlfriend for just over a year
    she was always a little crazy
    i decided to end the relationship
    she didnt want to break up
    she went crazy, hit, kicked, headbutted, pulled, bit, scratched ect
    bashed the hell out of my first car (twas a manual commodore ute and i loved it :mad:)
    then tried to hit me with a large rock the size of a football.

    in the end I got arrested for assault because she called the police when i left her on the side of the road and cried wolf.
    took me 12 months to get off that charge and prove i was inocent.

    so yeah, you can see why i would rather not go to this guy to ask about making the covers.

    :rofl::rofl::rofl:
