i also noticed on the trip down a 300zx in a carport on the north of cooma before you get into the town. Was that anyone from around here?

If it was a Black Zed..NO.
One of our members that lives in Cooma sold that car some time back & it now up for sale again, by some young guy.
There are a few Zeds in Cooma, but most of them are owned by the member I mentioned earlier, who has about 3 at last count and is thinking of buying one of the new 370's, to add to his collection.

    Home safe

Back home about 11.30 Sunday night after a fantastic weekend in Eden.

Very special thanks to Ian Judy and everyone who helped make it such a relaxing and enjoyable time we can't wait until we catch up with the gang again.:):)

With a few noteable exceptions, the group photo looks like a seniors day out. Where is the bus and does it have a toilet, Lloyd does not like long trips without a pit stop:p

It was great to meet Andrew Zed owner in Goulburn, love the scissor doors Andrew and hope to catch up in Sydney soon.

    Cheers

    red32 You talkin' to me?

    Brief summary:

Drive for 6 hours, spend the next three days stuffing your face with food, bit of a flog about on the Great Pacific Oggin, drive 6 hours home.
Sounds pretty ordinaire, but, what a great weekend!

It's definately the people who make or break this sort of event.

Arrived in Eden Friday mid afternoon after stopping in Traralgon to catch up with Roy (RoysZX) for coffee and breakfast, checked in to the motel, got my stuff in order and settled down on the units balcony with a beer. Heard the Canberra/Sydney mob arrive so I wandered down for a meet and greet. Hit the local pub that evening for dinner.
What is it with these occasions? I always end up sitting next to a 'Chilcott'!
'Chili' looks distressed, I look resigned to the fact that a very unpleasant session is to follow, and Lynn and Ellie think it's all terribly funny.
    Well, it's not, girls!

I lied! It was a great evening!

Saturday morning, down to the pier for breakfast (OJ, coffee, then a 'full English'. Yummy!)

There was some pretty heavy metal in the harbour this year. The "REM Etive" is a oil rig support vessel which has been working the Bass Strait rigs
    [IMG]
and was in Eden (the deepest natural harbour on the east coast) to replenish.
It's dedicated support ship, the "Ark Sydney" was also there

Just getting over brekky, then it's off to Merimbula for lunch.
Well, it was supposed to be. I think 'DREDZ' was the only Zed on the weekend to have any problems. Went to drive out of the motel and it was like trying to drive with the hand-brake on. All the 'get-up-and-go' had got up and went! Pulled up across the road and dipped the tranny... no reading. Wierd, because earlier that morning the car was fine. Limped to the nearest servo and bought some tranny fluid (took the whole litre to get a reading on the stick). Anyway, drove to Merimbula for lunch and the GB was faultless.
After lunch, I moved the car and looked at where it had been parked. There on the ground was a nice (horrid) little patch of tranny fluid. Current theory is that the seal on the pan has given up (yet to be confirmed). Bloody annoying, since the 'box was rebuilt only 12 months ago. Anyway, there were no further problems for the weekend.

Hit the beach for a BBQ tea (Good on ya, Jude). Usual photos taken, and in addition, I tried to get some pics of Ian's (Lil' Baz) all-singing, all-dancing LED interior light show.
They didn't work out too well (Memo to self: Get a tripod!),
but this one of the harbour at night was quite pleasing
    [IMG]
After the BBQ, I was invited back to the 'Chili's' unit for a glass of red. Typically, they weren't there. I found them down in the 'Zena' unit and all was well. Several bottles of 'red' later (shared amongst Tim, Chili, Oz-300 and myself), I went back to my own unit for some snooze.
    Enjoyed that.

Sunday morning found us all back at the wharf for breakfast. The chef had been warned the previous day to expect a crowd, but he thought that meant 2 or 3. There were 14 of us!
If you have never seen a one-arm paper hanger at work, I suggest you go to "Taste of Eden". After I spoke to him at 07:15, he rang the staff who were supposed to start at 08:00, and got them in early. He did magnificent work!

Then, out onto the Oggin, pics of whales, and back to harbour.

For Sunday lunch we went to the pub at Tathra, which serves the biggest 'Fishermans Basket' I have ever seen (see pics of last years event). I had sausages and chips this year!
From there, the Canberra/Sydney crew took off to the north, and Dave (Altered State) and I went back to Eden, later the the Golf Club for a tasty Chinese feast.

Dave left early Monday to attend a job in Mallacoota, and I left Eden at 07:30, arriving home at 13:30 (570km in 6 hours... don't tell anyone!)

    Overall, another brilliant wekend!

Sounds like a great time was had by all. Sorry that I couldn't come - I was on my way home from Philippines. Will come next year for sure - I remember how great it was last year.
Thanks IB for organising it again.

The reason for my obvious distress resulted from the realization that the small obnoxious gnome to my left, clearly did not intend to 'shout' unless I started the ball rolling, so I immediately went for 'Plan Two'(Oh no, not Plan Two again, surely?)which involved drowning anyone under 1.5mtrs in Red Wine(this was put into effect later in the evening). The things I have to put up with, for the sake of my fellow humans, amazes even me.;)

Fantastic weekend, great effort by Ian & Judy(thanks just doesn't really cover it guys)terrific company, great weather, unforgettable memories(the Whale Watching Cruise was one of the greatest experiences Lynn & I have ever enjoyed).
Can't wait to do it all again(with the best group of people one could ever hope to spend time with).

Bit late, but masssive thanks to Ian and Judy>>>

for arranging another fantastic Return to Eden cruise.

We got back to the hustle and bustle of Sydney traffic on Monday evening after a stay over in Bermaguie.

We always enjoy this trip to Eden and as always the company were fantastic.

Most things have already been said and many whale photos, so we won't add more fins and tails.

For the joy of the simple things in life, we travelled back through Braidwood and stopped off for lunch and decided we could not resist buying one of the Braidwood Bakery's famous loves of bread.

These are the largest loves we have ever seen and absolutely wonderful to eat. We didn't want to start cooking when we got home so we had thick slices with just butter and strawberry jam for dinner, Yumme.
The photo shows only half the loaf with the left over other half (still enjoying it) and as a gauge of the size a 2 litre container of milk. Braidwood is a good example of an olde worlde country town still thriving and is always busy even on a Monday when we passed through. Wide streets, old buildings slow life, great.

A couple of different photos to enjoy.

A little quiz for all to identify the ZEDEN crew, who will be first to correctly identify all the group who went to Eden this year. Bit of fun!!

    Enjoy

    Hi Whopper>>>

which day did you see us? I guess it must have been on the Monday lunch time in Braidwood where the army were joining us at the Bakery? or were we joining them!!!

Are we right? I mentioned to Marilyn the recruits all looked like our son in law who is in the army at the moment in Townsville doing a 2 year stint, all about the same height and build, lean and fit.

You probably couldn't hang around till we got back to the car to say hello because duty calls.

Thanks for letting us know you were there.
