Most likely the solder connection in the black ciruit box, inside the bottom of the drivers side door.

Check the tech section (Fixed a failed Power Window), there's a very clear write-up.

hey mate, this has happened to me twice.
more than likely it's a dodgy solder on the power window amplifier (on the drivers side), there's an article on it in the tech section.
for me, it was the switch itself, my replacement switch has the same problem every now and again (being 20 years old) and a good old tap makes it work again.
keep in mind if solder joints have broken, it doesnt necessesarily mean it was a bad soldering job, there's probably a reason why that terminal blows so keep your eyes out for a replacement.

I had same issue with mine. There's a black box where power is going into. Just grab a rubber band and wrap it around the box and connector (So its holding it in nice and tight).

    (assuming this isn't the switch)

If you hold down the button and knock on the door, does it start to work? If so, try the rubber band method =]

Had the same problem aswell. It was my Amp assembly for my power window.
It just stoppped one day so i hit the door trim and it worked this went on for weeks n then it just stopped completely. pulled the door apart and found that if i pushed the connector hard into the amp window would work again...so i cable tied it haha.. that worked for about a week... pulled the door apart and found i had to push the connector in harder for the window to work...(was stuffing the amp slowly). so i gave in and found an amp assembly on ebay for about $70 from the US. never had a problem again.

Forcing things on isn't a good idea. try some CRC contact cleaner first, clean terminals with a small screwdriver and check for frayed wires (cover with electrical tape).
