My beloved Z has just had a brand new automatic transmission overhall and it has now decided to stop releasing the lever from park. I understand there must be a switch activated by the brake pedal switch which triggers the solanoid and the T-bar allowing the button by your thumb to be depressed and then I can select R, N, D, 2, 1 when she is hot it locks up, can't be shifted. Anyone out there had any experience troubleshooting likely to be at the brake pedal or the solanoid. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance to those who will reply.

hey i actually have this problem as well (used to come and go now its permanent) and since im not sure how the mechanism works i took apart the shifter assembly. I stilll couldn't find the solution and so ive given up till after my exams.

I did notice that there is little motor that stops the shifter moving from park but i couldn't check its function without going through some big hassels as i was late and had to go.

I still thinks it is that little motor but haven't investigasted since. Hope this helps and if any1 posts a solution Tanks

Should be a small actuating switch/lever at the front bottom of the gear lever. Push this down and it will allow the gearstick to be moved from the park position. I use it when I am working on an auto while there is no battery connected
