okay nothings happened just yet but i live in the NT and the wet season is coming soon and it will be the first wet season my 300zx has sein...im just worried that because the air intake is right behind the nose pannel that it could suck up water. it was a pod filter on it....is there any way i can prevent this because when it rains here it proper rains... cheers
You could try the 'flower pot' method. Search should reveal all. As well as that, make sure you're splash guards are intact and in place.
...lol sorry... do u have an open nose panel? If not then just make sure ur seals are in place and ur splash guards are all good. Should be ok, the proper rain shouldnt be a problem...
look around for an OEM airbox and get a good quality panel filter. if you havnt got splash guards underneath, get a sheet of the material they use to make signs for real estate, hold under the car and cut to chape, then just rivet it to the underside of the front bar and find to bolts aound the crossmember to secure the rear part of it.
na i have a closed nose pannel....ill have a look this arvo to c if i have a guard under the car as well pretty shore i dont mite have to get one or make up one thanks
Best thing you could do would be to return it to stock inake with all the ducting that goes with it, may be a pita but its is better than bent rods in torrential rain. The flower pot method and other ideas work well for us down here, but we dont have the sort of rainfall you are dealing with.
just go to a sign maker... they'll have it in big sheets to whatever size you like. someone get a heap of this stuff and do a full on undercar lining... would like to see if it effects the handling in anyway. cheap enough to just give it a try...
i'll pass on the full undercar lining. If you guys want to melt plastic all over the underside of your cars then fine
just make sure you DONT use screws! hit something and the screws will end up in your nice, expensive tyres!
