Well that makes sense then! Don't put harnesses in, your Mrs will hate you forever. Have you got a Zed or are you just looking? Might be worth having a look at some late model Skylines. R34's are quite nice, and come with traction control and all that jazz. GT-T's are available for under $20k too. I notice you are 20, are you still on your P's?
I've been a Z' fanatic for over 4 years now . Love the body. Not the biggest fan of skylines. I might just tell him to get used to the idea of no airbags. Given the fact that the seatbelt is on the door, and there is double plated metal on the framework. I believe it's not an unsafe car in respect anyway.. It will be driven with the utmost respect. I am on my P's. I will probably be getting either an N/A or waiting. Another question for you ! Is it a simple procedure to upgrade from an NA to a TT.
Short answer, no, not easy to go NA to TT. They are solid cars anyway, heaps of bad crashes where occupants have escaped ok.
Ask your Father in Law whether his Daughter ever rides/has ridden in a Train, Tram or Bus(none of those have air bags, and most don't have seatbelts either).
actually... now you can import late 97 - early 98 model zeds. according to the owner of Iron Chef imports it is possible but its a PITA to find one and then find someone to comply it.
just dont let ur father in law read the dog n lemon guide for 300zx's it says that the 300zx has the highest death ratio per 10,000 sold... higher than any other sports car - it also says that the car belongs on the track only and is a death trap.... gets a shit all safety rating... But reADING THE DOG AND LEMON ITS VERY BIAs and give all jap cars crap ratings so wtf.... in the end - drive properly and ull be safe - drive stupid go on the track where only ur gonna get hurt... oh and there is nothing stopping u from buying an NA for a year then selling up and going for a TT.... plenty of people on this forum have done it - and by the time ur ready for a TT ull have much more knowledge on 300zxs....
The guy who wrote that book was on Today Tonight or one of those shows awhile ago. Came across as a complete idiot. Said something like "Keep away from German cars, they don't know what they are doing. The indicator is on the wrong side." :bash:
