car: 1989 300zx NA 2 seater after fixing the clutch fluid problem... Another has risen!!! Coolant levels are dropping and the car has over heated once (not into the bad zone, i just turned the car off till it cooled down)... but here comes the twist. The water leaks into my cars console via the air conditioning vents located near the drivers left foot and passangers right foot. This is quite an experience getting splashed with dirty coolant water all over your foot/socks/shoes... Has anyone ever has this problem? Which hoses are prone to leaking, located closest to the firewall/console??
Heater core, search will come up with a heater hose to bypass it, you don't need it for summer anyways
yeah mine ****ed out coming home from the gold coast last week, the temp gauge started going up real quick. Lucky I was only 1km from my mates place.
They go out usually due to Electrolysis. This come from bad grounds (earth) from sub par Stereo and accessory installation 99% of the time. Keep the cooling system clean and well grounded (Earthed). I will add a ground to one of the bolts on the Heater Core itself whenever I install or replace them.
yep, most of them will do it at some stage..... its just another way our zeds show there "love" for the owners lol
as soon as you mentioned car stereo installation, that defineatly made me think twice now... Car Stereo City in Osborne Park did the dodgiest isntallation on this car, How dumb can you be to put the door panel actually touching the speaker ?!?! anywayssss Ill have to get this heater core, i swear this car has had non-stop problems since i bought it Does anyone recommend a good Perth (Northern suburbs/ Joondalup) 300zx mechanic ?
feck! Ok onto step 2) Where can i get a heater core for my 1989 300zx NA 2 seater? i dont wanna get one from a wreckers cause of the quality/age of it, so id need to source a fresh/new one? Im in Perth in the northern suburbs. email: thiago@indepth.com.au
i cant remember which ,but eother a late 90's mirage or something like that has the same heater core as us.....a search will reveal more specific answers..... in the mean time, do a bypass, see tech section.
