.. incompetent supervision required ... and here is a little ....

.. simply by changing your oil and not touching your filter has nothing to do with the problems you are experiencing ....

top up your oil to get a between high/low(hot-cold ..??) reading on your dipstick ..and then start to work your way through the suggestions above ...

your issue has nothing to do with oil level/changing oil .... but your battery reading is highly suspect ... time for a new battery, at least, me thinks ....

    Excellent news.

Dont be put off by the negative posts on here but DO learn from your mistakes.

    4L of oil.

+ did I see a post saying you didn't change the oil filter?

You should always change the oil filter when doing an oil change.

its a pain first time but you get used to it. And dont be put off by the word "filter". They are a few bucks only.

Well done for getting your hands dirty.

Thank very much kind sir, your words are comforting. Im not put off by the others cmments by the way, im a computer guy (currently studying computer systems engineering) not the mech guy, lol.

But 2moro im planning on getting my hands dirty even more. Have to remove balance tube and things to get to cylinder 5, so I can replace the coil pack there with one of my good ones and see if it still misfires there.

    AndyMac Better than you

    PTU unplugged won't start
    CAS unplugged won't start
AFM unplugged will run in "limp home mode" max of around 3000rpm

also change your plugs if their coppers or just check them,

also maybe put some better oil in and change that filter while your changing that oil.

just a quick question, would it still be ok to drive my zed with oil not full (ran out just before), its about about a quarter way up on the dip stik, and I am only on 5 cylinders atm too.

how far? not really good to drive it but you could..

since your got a misfire might as well change all your plugs out (put some coppers in there, for the part number check my old threads)

so plugs, oil, oil filter your looking at about 80 depending on what oil you use..

how much are the copper plugs? I tried to look for them, are they just the normal cheap ones? like $4.50 each or something. Are the copper better than the iridium performance wise?

apparently coppers are not better then iridiums, im not quite sure but i know that coppers are cheaper.

but the reason i say use coppers is becase if you use iridums they foul up easy and you are trying to solve your misfire problem.

coppers are about $4-5 depedning where you go.

probally get a decent oil with a 15wXX

Have you tried turning it off, then back on again? :D
    Jokes, computer whiz :p

Do not drive it with not enough oil. Oil is not only for lubrication, but also a significant part of the engine cooling. I wouldn't risk it.

Before you take the advice of some of the people on here, how about you retrace your movements and look over the parts you may have bumped or moved. if it looks like it may have come unplugged, plug it in.
As much as people will try to tell you, spark plugs wont foul by doing an oil change. All 6 plugs don't just fail at the drop of a hat.
Oil spillage all over the engine may cause a problem, but you would need to pour liters of oil over the engine to cause a problem.

As Andy mentioned, PTU, CAS may cause problems, but you would be able to see if these were unplugged, and not likely to just die when you do an oil change.
Best of luck finding the problem, chances are its something simple. Doing an ECU probe should identify electrical gremlins, if present.

his started it, he just needs to buy more oil and sort out his misfire, which is why i said use coppers because iridiums foul easier then coppers and coppers are cheaper.

like i said, you could drive it but i wouldnt because as mitch said it helps with cooling ( i didnt know that) just catch a bus or hitch a ride off a mate.

Thanks, should I buy all 6 spark plugs or only one since only one cylinder is misfring?

Check connections first before susepecting a plug failed. you dont wanna go out and buy a new set and find it isn it. also the PTU can cause a cylinder to drop.

For future reference. each cylinder fires about the same as all the others, they all have a life, if one is failing, chances are the rest are nearing end of their life too.
