Has anyone used or heard of this being a viable combination, The guys at Z1 say the 740s suit the 300 degree rail but the 550's dont.. they have yet to try the 650's

I would think sards in thicker billet rail would be a poor choice.

Run Nismo 555s in your factory rail, or if you need more fuel run 740s in the 300 degrees rail.

Aside from working with the late model injectors (Nismo 740s are series 2) there are very little benefits to be had with the 300 degrees rails compared to stock.

    you can

use the later model nismo's yellow 555's=615 injectors with the right 300d rails, against modifying the stock rails or lower plenum, or using some bullshit kit. They may not be much better than the stock rails, but for ease of installation, twin in twin out capability, and being able to use later model injectors, they beat stock rails hands down.

so those fancy 300deg fuel rails realy do bugger all apart from being an adaptor ?

I was under the asumption that you would get a few more kw out of them

I personally wouldn't believe it... The bores are not much bigger than stock (if at all).

    Hmm

Apart from looking nice, the 300 degree would appear nothing more than an apapter if the diameter ( and presumably flow rate?) were similar, as I have sards and dont have nismos (best price I have seen for 555's is 900 AUD) and in the middle of a rebuild which is getting expensive I think I will get Hi Octane to seat the sards in stock rails and get them to flow/pressure test to ensure they dont leak. Its a risk using sards in stock rails, but with Hi Octane doing it hopefully this risk can be minimised. Cost wise its 200 ish Vs 900-1000

i run sard 650cc injectors on stock rails. Had to get special collars made from Hi Octane in NSW. got injectors from greenline.jp, and HiOctane in NSW done collars for 200$ delivered back. (you post them up)

I too HAD this done... however after contacting hi octane just recently to inquire about this. They replied along the lines of. We have no idea what you are talking bout. - (obviously not the words they used. but you get the point) Instead attempting to sell me different injectors. Damn them.

The collars/rail I had made up for the Red Zed was absolutely brilliant. Was perfect injection if you ask me. :)

But if they don't do it anymore, what can you do ?

    I know what to do...

Thanks for all those who have posted has been useful food for thought, I have contact Hi Octane if they dont/wont play ball re seating them after I supply the injectors, collars and rails.. THEN according to Sards webpage these injectors are a drop in for a 1JZ/2JZ so I will try and sell them there. (apparently they dont need collars on the supra or mark 2, which should make them easier to sell) also they fit (with collars) some WRX's however I have 6 they only need 4 so its not ideal.

    Something else to consider though...

How much does it cost you to get the sard collars, have them fitted, and convert your rail to twin feed?

You can get the 300 degrees rails for under $500, they fit perfectly and are already setup for twin feed. So no buggering around...

    Well..

The 300 Degree rails are 450 USD plus another 100 USD for mounting kit plus postage, Z1/CZP couldnt confirm if they would suit the 650's, the definately suit the 800s, but not the 540's no one knows their suitability for 650's.

I could sell the sards on the supra forum and expect 500-600 towards the the 900 I would need for the 555 Nismo's, as the rails/mounting kit/post would cost 600 AUD then I only need to sell the Sards for 300 AUD, any more than that and Im ahead, and have nismo which have no leaking/seating problems.

  12. I have been using the sard 650cc in the stock rail for around 3 years now and havnt had any leaking/seating problems. Everyone seems to think that you need to modify and re-use your old injector caps but this is not the case. If you put on the collar then the correct o-rings the collars hold them in prefectly (which I believe is how they are designed to work - not with modified injector caps). They really arent THAT hard to fit.

    Just my 2 cents.

    Cheers
