OK everyone, the time has come for me to sell up . I didn?t imagine the day would come but it?s the best thing for me to do right now as I?m looking to invest in my first property. I imported this car myself from Japan at the beginning of 2005 and have been the only aussie owner since. The real pity here is that she stands as an incomplete project. All new parts are purchased, engine machined and balanced? she?s ready to just be put back together and hit the road with nothing more to spend on parts etc. I have poured thousands into this rebuild over just the last year. The problem is that I have moved from Tasmania to QLD so I do not have time to finish the build in Tas. The ideal customer would be someone with engine building experience who could pick this car up, put it together and have it on the road with only the on-road costs to add. Of course it would still be a bargain for someone who simply wanted to spend a grand or 2 on a mechanic to put it back together for them. Then you would have a beautiful Z with a brand new engine for under $15000! I have recepts for most items listed below. Please note also that I have not left the parts laying around in a mess. All loose parts are in labelled zip lock bags and hoses and cables etc are all labelled also. The car has spent the majority of its life garaged and all of it?s time off the road it has been garaged. Body and paint is in exceptional condition except for a dent the size of 10c piece on the passenger fender, as well as the lower lip on the standard front bar needing significant repair or replacement. Interior is also great with no seat wear! BTW: Reason for engine rebuild was that I had battery acid spill on the vacuum hose controlling the passenger side turbo wastegate. The hose split and lost vacuum while at a club day on symmons plains race track. Therefore it was boost spiking without me noticing as I only had the standard boost gauge at the time Here is a run down of my car from the garage page on Aus300zx before the engine re-build: ENGINE: (Car completely origional/unmodified when I imported it in April 2005). Block bored out 20thou oversize with ACL Race forged oversized pistons to suit. Block decked, chemically treated/dipped, new welsh plugs etc Heads dipped treated etc, decked, valves re-seated all surfaces done. Crank polished Plenum chemically cleaned All the engine parts were balanced/blueprinted by Merve Grey?s in Launceston. This included the crank, pistons, rods, underdrive pulley, flywheel (Re-surfaced as well) and clutch. Over the time I have had the car I would have spent roughly $10,000 on it with manual conversion and all. Most of this I could prove. Ok I hope that?s it! I am sure I would have forgotten to add some things but I?ll add that info as it comes to my attention. Asking Price: $13,000 ONO
Open to all offers! Hi All, I want to make it perfectly clear that i am open to any offer, just throw one at me and we'll go from there! The price i have put on it, is what i believe it is worth, but that is not to say i won't consider other offers... At the moment if i don't get interest here soon i'll have to take a week or so annual leave to fly back to Tas and finish the build and get it on the road because i need to sell it! Some thing else i forgot to mention is that i have the full set of standard rims with new tyres ~90% tread plus the full set of 17 inch rims seen in the pictures with one pair of brand new tyres but the other pair to be replaced.
I think you have a lot better chance of selling if you get it on the road. If only the car was down south, I'd help you out.
Some new work done i was in Tas a couple of weeks ago and managed to spend a weekend working on the engine. So starting from scratch i managed to assemble the whole bottom end. it is now ready for head instalation. here is a pic of how she sits at the moment... notice the shiny new ACL race forged pistons, very clean block and new water and oil pump More pictures can be seen on my website here: http://ofranssen.googlepages.com/300zxforumpics here you'll see pictures of the piston that died and promted the re-build too.
Oh mate i'm still really struggling with the idea but realistically i do kind of need to. Depends... if i get a buyer before it is finished then i'll most likely sell, but if i end up finishing it i might be more likely to change my mind! So... at this time it is still for Sale!
By complete i'm guessing that you mean ready to go, road registered etc... Thats really hard to say at this point, depends on the market at the time and how desperate i am i guess. The thing is that it might take a while to get to that point because i don't know when i'll be in tassie next, it could be a while!
