    and catback exhaust question.

Does the zed engine's operating temps go down at all when allowing the engine to breathe better with these basic mods? Plus does replacing the stock airbox with a pod filter allow more air through to the radiator?

Just wondering if anyone has measured a difference in operating temps when doing these mods, assuming eveything else was left the same.:)

I would say it wouldnt really make any noticable difference.

Honestly mate, if your worried about the temps, which is not a bad thing, just get yourself an aftermarket temp gauge and keep an eye on things.

Maybe remove the thermo fan and clean out all the crap that gets stuck behind it, after seeing the amount of crap stuck behind mine i would say that would make a much bigger difference than removing the stock airbox. Only a half hour job too, even for a newbie.

I had a very bad overheating problem with zxtt1 which after a very long and involved diagnostic over a number of months and fixing and replacing diverse clamps and hoses turned out to be a very blocked aircon condensor core. Cleaned it out and problem was fixed. Get an aftermarket tempgauge for both water and oil, so at least you get a better idea of whats going on.

My cooling system seems to be fine. I'm just looking for

ways to maximise its efficiency. I have the ECUTalk unit installed so I'm keeping an eye on coolant temps which prompted this discussion.

I'm definately upgrading the exhaust but I'm still undecided about replacing the stock air filter. I like a nice exhaust note but induction noise is less appealing to me.

Thanks for the ideas about checking for obstructions.

    cheers :zlove:
