Hey guys, what do u think about my littlel work today, i ve been checking for some polished water by pass pipes, no one have them and i dont feel like to orderins them from the US so i decide polish the ones ive got my shelf i ve done one today tomorrow ill go for the next one,the true is that i save my self 150 bucks as the materials to do the litlel task cost me $45 at Bunnigs the next pics show u the result: Pics: First Step with 80 grip disc. Second 120 grip wet&dry sandpaper. Third 240,400 & 1200. Finally polish with grey and white buffing soap. doesnt it look good? is it better to do anything else like paint it with some clear coat or anything? thanks guys
looks good man I just went over my plenum and hard pipes with a wire wheel on a drill . all come up shiny and new looking but not polished
oohh, i try to look for 2000 grip in bunnings but i didnt find it though the higuest they had was 1200
2000 would be a waste of time mate, 1600 would be about as fine as you would want to go came up very nicely there is a meguiars metal buffing compound which would have worked wonders on that if you wanted to paint it, anodised paint would come up very nice good job
hey guys the other one have quite much corrosion at the end of the pipe, i had to sand it a bit more than the other one, sould i put some cealant at the time im conecting the hoses or something? Thanks
You use 2000 as a final sand it helps smooth out and gets rid of fine scratches. The pipes look good. The meguiars metal polish is some good shit. You can get some stuff by loctite which is loctite number 3 says it is non hardening sealant. Put some of that on when you goto put the hoses back on. I have put it on them hoses as well as my heater hoses when i had to replace them a couple of years ago.
Super Heap has all the gear you need inc 2000 griT sandpaper. You can whipe your arse with that stuff, it's so smooth. Nice work mate.
The came up really well with the smooth up work beforehand. How much was the plating if you don't mind me asking? I have a spare set, plennum, balance pipe, etc that I am going to have done.
